Did you even bother to read the article you posted? In no way did Biden claim credit for the vaccine. Not like the trump administration and elected republicans, who are currently falling all over themselves to claim credit for the vaccine under Operation Warp Speed - which Pfizer was NOT associated with and took no money from.
Whether or not they took part in warp speed, they were under pressure by that program to compete to get it out as fast as possible.agjacent said:

What are you babbling about? "Three years worth of tests" on a novel virus that is less than a year old? And what does the manufacture and mass distribution of a vaccine have to do with its creation?Maroon Dawn said:agjacent said:

Oh Pfizer wasn't part of it?
So they have 3 years worth of tests they've done because they didn't get the special permissions and waivers from OWS? Nor are they taking a dime of the 2 Billion distribution money?
Do you even listen to the propaganda they ask you to repeat?

COVID will be a bad memory by the time he takes office. It served its purpose. It's time to start pivoting from it. The fact that so many can't see this, or welcome it, because it serves their political desires is mind numbing.Maroon Dawn said:
Wow
They even openly said "He doesn't want to change anything about Operation Warp Speed, just criticize how fast it was done"
All about desperately trying to convince America that ending the COVID scare now that it isn't politically useful anymore is really Uncle Joe solving it in his first month all by himself
A lot of the therapeutics and vaccines were based on existing drugs for corona-type viruses. There has been a lot of work already done in the field so most of this wasn't done from scratch for 19.agjacent said:What are you babbling about? Trump did the same thing for Pfizer and the other pharmacuticals that he did for all American companies that helped create the best economic expansion in decades back in 2017. He set a favorable climate by cutting government red tape and regulations so that businesses could function and do what they do best - create products and services - without the heavy hand of government throttling innovation and production.agjacent said:

Yep. There was a SARS vaccine that was done and ready for final approval when the funding dried up because SARS had disappeared.YouBet said:A lot of the therapeutics and vaccines were based on existing drugs for corona-type viruses. Yes, obviously. Coronaviruses in general are nothing new. SARS and MERS are both coronaviruses.YouBet said:A lot of the therapeutics and vaccines were based on existing drugs for corona-type viruses. You questioned his "three years worth of tests" on a novel virus. I was merely pointing out that a lot of ground work had been done with SARS and MERS (as examples) that gave pharma a head start. Thus, much testing has been done in previous years that contributed to C19 developments.agjacent said:Yes, obviously. Coronaviruses in general are nothing new. What do years of past research into coronaviruses, which the entire medical research field worldwide has access to, have to do Operation Warp Speed again? How does Operation Warp Speed in any way impact the starting line that these pharmaceutical companies all began from?

Vaccine development is a long, complex process, often lasting 10-15 years and involving a combination of public and private involvement.
Why would Pfizer try to distance themselves from Operation Warp Speed.agjacent said:

No they haven't. They even basically suppressed news about the Mideast peace gains. Probably because want to start more conflict. At least now anyone not for socialism or a Left Democrat knows the Media is the Democratic Party. The great `tuning out' and marginalization of them can begin among the center and right.Ag87H2O said:Quote:
The media has not given Trump credit for anything good in four years and they're not going to start now.
The leftist propaganda machine is cranked up and running wide open just like it has been since 2016, they've just refined their art to a whole new level.
It truly is like we are witnessing the takeover of this country by an American Pravda. Best to turn them off and ignore it as much as possible and get your information from actual reliable news sources.

The hilarious part is this was a triumph of the private sector that would normally be treated as validation of the conservative worldview. But Trump will always claim credit, and his supporters will believe him. So..
Then why on earth would the "experts" like Fauci claim at best it would take 18 months to develop a vaccine. As time past, his latest was this summer and we would be fighting this virus through 2021 and into the middle of 2022 when we would be back to something akin to normal.YouBet said:

Your mistaken, President Trump has repeatedly praised the research and development of pharmaceutical companies, only stating his administration got out of the way of these companies.esteban said:

Which is something Obamian Democrats would never have done. Get the hell out of the way.richardag said:esteban said:
