Recently spent some time in the little community of Buffalo Gap, just south of Abilene. Great getaway, great food (Perini Ranch and affiliates).

While waiting for a great breakfast at The Gap Cafe, found this paper. Great source of fair and balanced news that all here would enjoy.

Used to have a deer lease across the street from Abilene State Park outside of Buffalo Gap. Loved that place. Perini's is incredible.

Downtown BG used to have an old place that served breakfast only. Basically someone served greasy enchiladas out of their home, which was the only thing on the menu. Damn were they good!

Read it a lot. We have a ranch near there. I wouldn't call it "fair and balanced", but it balances against some of the more liberal rags. Internally, not much balance....

I used to live in Abilene off of Buffalo Gap Rd... really makes you think.

Perini's grills a legit steak. It took the #1 spot from Joe Allen's (in my opinion) years ago. Sadly, I haven't been back since both my parents passed years ago.

Before 1978, Buffalo Gap had the only restaurants in Taylor County that would serve beer with your meal.

Not much to add to the conversation other than Aaron Watson lives in Buffalo Gap; we actually pass by there house several times going back and forth to the state park. It wasn't until my wife noticed a house that looked just like the ones posted on her Instagram and sure enough it was.

Perini Ranch was good but not the best food I've had.
