Why is it controversial to condemn a hate organization? Why is it so hard? Why does this board flatly refuse to do it? These are the questions I'm asking, supported by evidence that proves definitively that the Proud Boys are a hate organization. I've tried to be as civil as possible, but have received only vitriol in return. Why can this board not denounce the Proud Boys for what they so obviously are? Why is this even controversial? These men who aren't offended by their heritage told the First Nations protesters that they were offended by what the protesters were doing. They are being persecuted for expressing pride in their heritage as the Native Americans were being praised for their intentional disrespect of other's heritage.

Nowhere in the article does it state that the PB military members do anything violent.

Edit to add: This incident was in Canada, which doesn't have Constitutionally protected free speech.

If the US, both sides should be able to openly have an opinion, even if they disagree. Portland is trying to deny this fundamental right to groups that don't agree with their communist ideals.

These men who aren't offended by their heritage told the First Nations protesters that they were offended by what the protesters were doing. They are being persecuted for expressing pride in their heritage as the Native Americans were being praised for their intentional disrespect of other's heritage.

From this article, "Patriot Prayer" wants a peaceful assembly and antifa and other left wing groups are organizing to confront them. Even from this biased source, it is obvious that the left leaning groups want to violently oppose the free speech rights of a group whose views they disagree.

The head of Patriot Prayer, who apparently is running for office says he just wants freedom of expression in Portland, which apparently is being denied.

Proud Boys is just randomly mentioned in the article as if they are some boogie man.

Your evidence doesn't bode well for your agreement that these are violent white supremacy groups. This article actually implies that the violence comes from the intolerant left.

You just beat me to the same point. He wants an organization condemned without any real evidence of negative actions, just beliefs he has attributed to them.

On the other hand, Antifa/BLM have years of demonstrably criminal actions, but he can't bring himself to condemn the organizations themselves. As you say, wanting to have it both ways.
