Lady got kicked out of Gruene Hall tonight

I'm so glad things are slowly opening back up. My wife and I truly enjoy the live music scene and we have missed this the most the past 6 months.

So Gruene Hall removed all their benches and set up old wine barrels with 6 chairs each and placed them at a distance from each other. No problem, wear your mask when you walk in and take it off when you sit down.

So there was a band playing that we enjoy and in the middle of their set, a 50+ aged woman gets up from her seat and starts dancing - by herself. She was not moving around, and yes she had her mask off - but she just stood up.

So a "manager" comes and gives her a warning and she went off. I can't say I blame her. She just stood up. Anywho, another "manager" comes over and asks her to leave. She was pissed. We sat there and stared at each other, "they really kicked her out for that?" Ridiculous.

I'm so sick of this SCAMDEMIC. Any other extreme examples out there ?

Our only hope is a Civil War, a very unlikely scenario OR secession of at least 10 states in the South and Midwest, again unlikely OR another Trump-like Presidential candidate that cuts through the political correctness, the social bullsh6t, to expose the corruption, the media(social) bias, the Dem lies and deceit. I fear it may be too late - I truly think it is.

Edit. Misread the OP.

**** sucks but she needs to follow their rules if they ask her to do something and she doesn't. I hate masks as much as the next guy but I'll use them to live my life the closest to normal that I can. If my decisions cause employees of establishments to ask me to put it on in certain situations I will if I want to continue frequenting that establishment.

1) put it on as chin strap
2) then put it over mouth leaving nose exposed
3) if still hassled, finally make a scene

The good news is I hear a top notch BBQ trailer is setting up down the road from Gruene Hall. Like championship stuff. And the people setting it up won't kick anyone out for not wearing a mask.

Back in July, I was best man for my good friend's wedding in New Braunfels, just after Abbott gave the order. Nobody but a couple of the older folks who came wore them, but even they took them off after a while. I had made it pretty clear that we weren't doing that bulls*** and ruining the thing long before it happened.

Some Karens stopped by to take photographs of us and I presume report us. We just ignored them. I can't imagine being such a sheep that you have to stop and report someone's wedding, and think you're doing the right thing.

I start and finish my daily run at Gruene Hall. Always nice when I can circle back later in the day and down a cold one with some live music. Great town, great dancehall

More people should be civilly disobedient.

Walk into a store with no plan to buy anything wearing a mask. Remove your mask and when eventually asked to leave walk out or make it a little difficult for them before leaving. But be civil.

Not crazy at all to me. If you actually like to dance and are good at it, you likely have a different opinion of what makes a good dance hall.

Most of them suck because you can't do much with the crowd sizes these days. The population is just too big and places like Gruene have become too popular. I'll take newer and less historic if it means I don't have to fight people standing out on the dance floor, personally. A lot of these places may as well just be considered live music and ice houses.

Thank you. My point exactly. Gruene is a music venue, not a dancehall. Huge difference. And it's not even a great music venue. I've been to many of both and Gruene is at the bottom of the list on both accounts.

I give zero sh**s that the yuppie music movement latched onto it as some faux icon.

Unfortunately the Texas (Hilll Country and south and west pretty much) has for the very very most part lost its dancehall culture starting 30 or so years ago. Mexican Texans from what I have heard are still keeping their part of the deal however with a number of dance venues still open.
