Anyone who can't objectively see that Biden is both mentally incompetent and historically corrupt shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Trump has definitely done some good things for our country. But the COVID-19 response was a disorganized circus.

He's certainly mentally incompetent. But I think you are selling his colleagues short if you think he's historically corrupt. I think that very few of them aren't corrupt.

10K have died from China virus directly. 180k have died from other disease and Covid may or may not have kicked them over the edge.

How many died from Swine Flu 'complications'???

Well do calculations that assume no bans until March and attempts to stop spread, and you might get an idea.

It would have been a hot mess under any administration. People like to think that our government is a well oiled machine that can tackle any obstacle, but it is simply a bloated, oversized, group of lazy-ass bureaucrats that are too incompetent to get a real job in the private sector. We are lucky that this was not a more lethal pandemic.

Can't compare the two. The Obama / Biden admin. basically hid it from the public when comparing the two as they ordered the stop of testing a month after declaring it a pandemic so we don't know the total number of people who had/died from swine flu as it affected a much broader age range and had a much higher mortality rate for children. More will come out on this if Jo keeps pushing it as the basically said why test for it since we already declared it a pandemic as the resources it would take and the response would be unfathomable.

Just gonna throw this out there...if there's proof of the local and state governments suppressing low COVID numbers as well as counting obvious non-COVID deaths as COVID (Orlando motorcycle guy), is it not reasonable to assume they are also inflating death numbers?

The medical experts in January were saying there was no human-to-human transmission they could see.

The medical experts in January and February said there was no need to worry about it.

The medical experts said we should not wear masks up until May, and then changed their minds.

Trump shut down travel from China in late January/early February. Everyone was opposed to him doing it.

Trump shut down travel from Europe in March, before other countries followed suit.

The medical experts really had no clue what they were doing on the treatment until June/July, when they realized that the traditional means of treating pulmonary issues weren't really the best solution for this.

And yet everyone blames Trump for the government response? Come on, folks. That is absolutely ridiculous. I noticed that NO ONE who is blaming Trump for ALL of the COVID infections and death have actually offered what they would have done different. I haven't heard a single person offer an alternative response for each and every month of this pandemic. NONE.

Independent of party affiliation, I agree with the general statement.

Expanding on the point - by turning the crisis into a political agenda, the ability to reasonably manage the situation was lost on day one. The fact that information was constantly changing amplified the crisis. Then, nitpicking every comment and immediately stating a 180 position placed all parties on opposite side of the fence. I do not think anyone could have managed this situation to the satisfaction of the opposing party under the same political circumstances.

Sadly, weaponizing a crisis has become the norm.

They projected 2 million deaths. Trumps response limited it to 200k. Pretty good.

They'll never admit Trump saved millions of lives. They'd rather spend a week watching Hillary getting waxed.

I don't think his response was ideal, but I don't think this country is set up well to deal with something like this and I'm absolutely okay with that.

Also, don't forget the months long confusion over whether or not asymptomatic spread was a major factor in transmission.

So Biden didn't live up to his stated expectation of "no deaths" during Swine Flu.

Guess I can't vote for him then. He wasn't doing his job.

There's money and political capital in every COVID diagnosis and death. How can any rational, thinking person not believe those numbers are hyper-inflated?

Yes, but how many people died of other things who also had swine flu? They didn't check. So that's probably just swine flu deaths.

The number of corona virus deaths is not 200K. It's 198K. And as we know, only 6% of the covid deaths are only from covid. 6% of 198K is 11,880. LESS than 12K.

He did not shut down travel from China he only stopped non citizens from coming. Americans returned from china/overseas in droves and were not tested and were not quarantined as strict as they should have been.
Also the import of goods from China is exempt from the travel restrictions, so we still were receiving goods. Don't get me wrong I think a travel ban is a good idea, BUT the travel ban is a completely overstated action by Trump that really did little to stop the spread.

Also when you said "everyone" was against the travel ban can you please cite comments from Democratic officials or policy makers that said they were against a travel ban? Seeing as you said everyone this should be a relatively easy task.

Trump definitely failed when he let Cuomo put COVID patients in with the Meemaws and Peepaws. He should have exercised those dictatorial powers the Dems say he has to have Cuomo pulled out by his nipple rings and shot in the head Chinese style (do both Cuomos have rings or just Fredo?)
