When businesses and others don't require it. I wear it as a courtesy to other people. It's not about me.

What about the anti-vaxxers that will not get the vaccine? Does that mean everyone has to mask up still?

Seriously. I don't patronize my children because it's not doing them any favors to do so. Patronizing Karens and their eunuch husbands only serves to empower them. I quit wearing masks in stores until I'm asked to put one on by an employee.
I live in the Austin area and don't wear a mask much. I've been kicked out of one place that had people jammed back-to-back. Every business has signs posted, but most won't tell you too much or anything at all.

Leave it at home? I never even brought one home to begin with. The only place I wear a mask is at church.

Bingo. Hopefully it will be somewhat effective like the seasonal flu shot and I've still gotten the flu. You people solely relying on a vaccine might as well put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.
Makes you feel better even though the data doesn't really support it. I suppose that's the liberal way though. Need to always make themselves feel better by being about something, all the while bring others down who don't see eye to eye. Literally the least we could do is get all highway speed limits down to 55 mph and have harsher penalties for anyone going even just 56. I'll also argue that it does affect the economy. People don't tend to spend more time at places and/or go somewhere with masks requirements as much. Let's take a movie theater? I don't want to sit there for 2 hours with it on. On the other hand, if I'm allowed to remove it while I'm eating popcorn and/or drinking a beer, then I won't have it on at all and just eat popcorn or sip on beer little by little all movie long. In that case, it truly is just pandering and completely useless anyways. Same as at restaurants. ITS LITERALLY TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL BETTER. Under no circumstance is that 40 second walk to and from your table the difference in you giving someone else coronavirus all the while you sit there for an hour without it on at your table. Absolute pandering and insanity.
Either way, in texas, it's flat out unnecessary at this point anyways. We are way past the point where we should be able to take them off. Abbott will keep acting like his order is what is keeping the hospital rate down. Even though the mass spreaders, ie friend and family gatherings/parties, etc., people aren't wearing them.
I've only worn one once, and that was for just a few seconds. Most places don't care any more.

Why didn't business and government require masks during SARS and during flu season?
All are viruses. All are contagious. All are same size. All are spread the same way.
If we didn't need a mask for SARS and we don't need it during the flu season we don't need it now.

It most certainly does harm the economy. People don't do many things they otherwise would because of the mask requirement. Maybe libs get some kind of warm fuzzy when they put on a mask. but for a conservative, it's depressing to see people wearing masks. Having to wear a mask takes most of the fun out of any activity you may engage in, making you less likely to actually engage in that activity which harms the economy.Quote:
