Reminds me of a story I've mentioned a few times but I have a friend who lists one of her properties on Airbnb, and one of her guests took issue with some raw cotton that she kept in a vase as part of her decor. The guest tried to blow things up on social media and disparage my friend for being a racist for decorating her property with symbols of racial oppression. The best part was my friend, the property owner is black.

You guys have it all wrong. Everyone knows blacks are the only ones who've ever worked in this country. Whites just sat on their porches drinking bourbon and reaped the rewards. Geez....Robstown is around 80-90% Hispanic. They were in our district and routinely went 1-9 or 0-10 in football. Back then their baseball was ok, took off in the 90's. No one ever or even thought of "blacks" picking cotton when their team name was mentioned.

Back when I was a student at A&M there was a class where a black student was complaining about black people picking cotton.

Some white country boy stood up and asked...

Family from the Valley, raised cotton. Picked up yearly migrants at an arranged location on the Rio Grande for Cotton Picking season. That's right, people broke into this country to pick cotton to survive.

Cotton picking season (which I was spared) was all hands on deck time. Hard miserable work which people did for modest wages.

I chopped cotton many a summer on my uncle's farm (which wasn't really chopping cotton, but rather the weeds out of the cotton).

I never picked it...we had cotton strippers for that. But chopping it was no walk in the park, especially the cursed damn sunflowers.

Leftists do understand that there is a plant that produces a fibrous boll commonly referred to as cotton, and in order to use that cotton to make their clothes, it first must be picked, right?

About 20 years ago I got into an internet discussion with a guy who lived in Jackson, MS of all places. He talked about how hoeing the weeds in cotton fields was such hard and laborious work in today's society. I told him that in today's world I didn't know of any cotton farmers who could afford to pay field labor to hoe weeds by hand and it was almost all done chemically or mechanically. That was the end of that discussion, and he needed to go find another straw man to prop up.

According to some websites it is still 93% white.*
