Marxism never gained power in Western Europe after WWI. They tried. But they failed. Facism was a competitor with more appeal to the highly divided and culture aware Europeans. It's nationalist versus bland internationalist dogma had a broader appeal in Spain, Italy, Germany, and elsewhere, and dynamic and narcissistic leaders were able to lead Those movements to success before Marxism could establish itself. Western Europe also did not have as large of an uneducated peasant population for Marxists to exploit.

This is what I think of when I see NPR.

It was just as brutal and ruthless to its enemies as Marxism, but it actually ran down overall lives less and the choice made sense.

That's not yet true. For the simple reason right now is still the transition, there are millions of us living from the times before high-tech could fake reality and who remember it vividly. And who tracked things as they happened.

Unfortunately it will be for your children and theirs and anyone in the present education system.

There will be no way for your kids after you are gone to know there ever was something other than what are told unless they go investigate themselves. But no way to know `socially' because it won't be set up that way.

Just look at the false police murder of blacks narrative the Democrats&Media -- who run all the cities where it happens the most, are pushing nation-wide. That would never have worked here before the age of social media because being anti-totalitarian was baked into the Cold War ethos.

Oh, and btw, like his glorious banning of CRT, President Trump needs to defund NPR - take public funds away - on Nov 2 --- just in case.

Curiously, when I ask these bozos if they truly believe he is a fascist do they not understand that they would be in some cattle car en route to some remote camp for "re-education", all I get in reply is crickets.
