People like the speaker, and most of this board, wouldn't know actual witchcraft or paganism if it smacked them in the face with a sage bundle....

Summoning and talking to the dead or other spirit beings, whatever label you give it, it's an open door to evil. It causes people to believe they are their own god. I've studied some of the new age philosophy and it often leads to this sort of communication with spirits. New age stuff is growing in popularity. And it promotes the belief that you can bend reality to your will, and be your own mini-god, and that some intelligent beings or universal force guides you. From the testimony of many former practitioners of witchcraft and other eastern or new age beliefs, it leads to spiritual torment and being controlled by evil spirits.

You can find countless testimony of witchcraft and new age practitioners who were attacked by demons all over you tube, the repeated theme is that the beings initially appeared loving, helpful, kind, and helped them get what they wanted and asked for, but over time the beings became unkind, and even hostile, and then were revealed as evil and demonic. Would you also say many of the reformed practitioners don't know what witchcraft is if it smacked them in the face?

The YouTube channel below is one of the most factual I've encountered, lays out clear logical arguments for every stance taken. The author formerly practiced new age spiritualism / Christ consciousness and had an authoritative website with over 200,000 hits a day promoting that ideology that he abandoned after encountering Jesus.

Witchcraft is not new age... it predates your own religion by centuries.....

That was....interesting, if a bit full of it, overly broad, and needing to lay off the internet sensationalism.

I keep being amazed that this has infiltrated the Politics board so much, but then I recall it has no place or welcome on the Religion and Philosophy board.

It's politicized religion that believes the other party is demonic/satanic/etc. That brand of crazy belongs right here these days.

One small problem with your theory that we're all crazy:

The BLM founders were recorded admitting they practice witchcraft.

BLM might not be witchcraft, however, we know a couple "kids" that are whole in on the anti-white stuff, who left to go to school at TAMU as conservatives, and absolutely refuse and/or shut down ANY "discussion" on the matter unless you are "all in" on the whiteness is bad line. And they are white as Wonderbread.

I am old enough to remember the cults in the 70s, and this is straight up "cult" like belief stuff, just short of the glazed eyes look, but close. I remember families having to rescue their kids, and it taking months or more to have them "de-programmed", and with some, it never took.

"Green" is the new RED.

I have felt the same way. There is only this drumbeat of hatred and violence and rage. These are not fruits of the spirit but symptoms of spiritual pathology.

I've seen a lot of egyptology in blacks as of late on Facebook and Twitter and the revolutionary types as well. It's just a shade away from Hebrew Israelite-ism in terms of the way they twist scripture to be racist.

When whites posit themselves as the lost tribes of Israel, and inject racial supremacy into it, I sense the same anti-Christian vibes I get from the BLM crowd. Both tread dangerously close to selling their souls for the vain purpose of attempting to achieve a higher place in the social order based on skin color.

No.

It is a cult.

One common cult rule is that exposure to non cult approved information is prohibited. Many strict cults punish members who ask questions or read literature that isn't cult approved.

Fair enough. KV on the R&P board responded to this far better than I did simply being dismissive. I'm digging his responses on the duplicate thread.

Vonnegut's response on that thread was to call me a bigot for labeling African religions as witchcraft.

When I pointed out that the witchcraft was summoning the dead (not practicing a different religion), he admitted that he was too lazy to view the source material.

If you respect ignorantly tackling strawmen, Vonnegut is an excellent poster. But if you're sane, he's one of the worst posters on this site.

He gives possible credence to other religions and beliefs, whereas I simply mocked them out of hand believing witchcraft was 1) untrue so if engaged in harmless like the wiccans and 2) was being used as useful tool to paint the enemy as evil.

As an agnostic his response was far better than my mockingly dismissive one. It's odd I only admit to uncertainty when it comes to Christianity, but then ridicule witchcraft, because it seems absurd and impotent to me. It still does, but Vonnegut took up this other belief system and examined it. He likened it to other forms of ancestor worship, and asked what made it evil other than it wasn't your belief system?

F16 is more religiously pure than the R&P board.

The only thing I have on him as far as this exchange is a better moniker. I hope he stays on 15 as I'm a bit jealous.

"Witchcraft" is not summoning the dead. Very few witches in any tradition focus their beliefs on any form of summoning.

I was actually talking about the white identity groups which have their own twisted version of the Black Hebrew fantasy. They had their own "churches" in northern Idaho twenty years ago which preached racial hatred.

Interesting. I did not know that.

What types of rituals do witches practice?

What would you call someone who performs spells and incantations to summon the dead?

I'd like to know as well and see if it checks out with what I know and what others say on the internets
