Do you atomize the rim with absinthe? Damn good.
Yes, I have a small atomizer bottle filled with absinthe for just this purpose. Two spritzes inside the glass is perfect.

I do eat bacon and many other forms of meat.

I use Honest Amish balm for my beard rather than oil though.

Seriously though, in this weather? Gimme a mojito or a gin and tonic.

I'll spring for a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue.
hawg,

Why Johnnie Walker Blue?

As a rule, I don't touch anything with a Johnnie Walker label. The red label is gasoline. I'm not a scotch snob or anything but, I like what I like. However, since you said you would spring for a blue bottle, may I assume that you would recommend this particular scotch?

Just as a point of reference, my go to is Glenfiddich Solera 15.
Johnny Walker Blue is aged much longer and very smooth. At $200 a bottle, it better be.

I make my mojitos with spiced rum.

3oz spiced rum
1oz simple syrup
8-10 mint leaves
3-4 lime slices
2 splashes bitters
Small slice of ginger (optional)
Splash of club soda or ginger ale

In a high ball glass, muddle mint and ginger in simple syrup. Add lime slices and gently muddle on top of mint/ginger. Fill glass with crushed ice. Add rum and bitters. Top off with club soda/ginger ale. Mix and enjoy.

Blue is only marginally better than the gold.

And blue isn't blended and then aged. It is blended from aged whiskeys.

It's pretty good. For $200, you can do better. The Gold and Green are pretty good for the price.

Would much rather have a dram of Lagavulin, though.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”

Siri's is the prime example of a system where we allow people to accumulate insane amounts of wealth and then have a political system that can be controlled by those with money.

So you can invite your liberal friends to suck on that.

You forget I live in the boonies in a partially dry county. My not-so-"local" liquor stores are fairly limited in selections. I was actually amazed they even carried JW Blue. I only go into a city with better selections about twice a year at this point.

What spiced rum do you use? Don't want to overpower the mint, you know.
