My cousin sent me a screenshot today of an automated update that was sent to his iphone of a yahoo sports headline that read "Magic's Isaac used religion as a crutch. Jonathan Isaac standing for the anthem while teammates knelt could've been applauded if his explanation wasn't nonsense".

Absolutely despicable.

Same headline they use anytime someone refuses to kneel and says it is because they will only kneel before God.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

What does it matter what his explanation is? If someone doesn't want to kneel, they don't have to and don't have to give anyone an explanation.

"Because I didn't want to."

End of conversation.

I don't even know why that would get sent to him like it was some major breaking news story. Furthermore, the entire premise is extremely dumb considering how Drew Brees was treated when he gave an entirely different reason.

He was given grace in that setting that his words didn't deserve. Using religion to avoid an intellectual conversation, a practical one or even common sense is an area nobody should have time or room for. There should be no "other side" to racism, no "other side" to police brutality given the obvious examples we've seen over the last several years.

He's 22, so there should be space for grace and growth, should he seek it. It's not necessarily a youthful indiscretion, like using illegal drugs or being caught driving while intoxicated, but it is a learning moment because his line of thinking is dangerous.

I hadn't actually read it and it's even worse than I thought.

No, what is actually dangerous is the entire BLM movement and these giant corporations blind support of it and tyrannical nature of those demanding everybody bend the knee.

The linked twitter comments are as expected. Jesus said they will hate him for His sake. Their eyes are blind, thinking they can solve problems of the human heart with awareness, bureaucracy and laws.

We've been trying that since humans gained consciousness!

Y'all know what I hate about every single piece of crap these jackwagons are doing is I love sports. I played all of them, except for ice hockey on the Trinity growing up. I love to go, and to watch sports.

If I'm going to have any kind of principles, I've got to stop watching those *******s because it's not about BLM, as the money goes to murderers in the Marxist/Communists Act Blue, which is well known. All communists are ultimately murderers, even though the true believers don't start out like that.

So I love sports, and want to watch sports, but the NBA, MLB, and NFL are gone due to every single one of them calling ALL American's (black, brown, asian, and white) racists just because we're American. The hell with them, but please don't allow them to completely ruin college sports.

If college football isn't played this year, spring sports won't play because the don't have the funds. Most folks don't know how badly the athletic department is hurting for funds, and I've never been in a situation where I didn't care about Aggie athletics.
