That is the normal weekly swing with the weekend taking effect.

We're starting to see the same beginning of a drop off

No one is allowed to say it but it looks like the protest spike is finally falling off

Yea but that's still not concerning. At least not to me.

It is more than that. That was certainly an accelerator but no more so than a Texans game would be with a full crowd. So was Memorial Day weekend and everything just opening back up.

We will never again see what happened in NYC. It is just not going to happen for a host of reasons. That is fairly obvious now.

Totally agree, I was just pointing out that we have much more data now to get a handle on this and quit knee-jerking like we did early on. The quality of data is still an issue, but we got what we got.

Pretty sure we can stop with all the overwhelming hospitals nonsense.

An extra 3 months of data on treatment leads to better outcomes. Delaying our inevitable spike saved lives.

Why are the total staffed beds going down? If this is so bad, they should stay the same or go up if possible, no?

Yep. We will at least know now when it is true and when it is not.

After the NYC MSA death purge in April/May the CDC death rate is showing a consistent stepping downward toward normal. Obviously there is still unreported death. But the trend data continues to be going in the right direction. That hasn't changed.

Looks like if you are in the hospital on the weekend, you have higher probability of dying.

50 people died last week from a flu-like illness in a city of 3+ million you say?

That's it, time to shut down all the schools that aren't due to start for a couple months. Youth Sports? Nope, not while we have a viral disease floating around that we humans have never had to accept living with before!

So those are really just deaths of people who possibly had Covid, right? Not people conclusively proven to have died FROM Covid?

I dont think you are ever going to get a died 'FROM' Covid or any other disease for that matter. We know better than that. My grandad had Alzheimer, Cancer, and Pneumonia the day he died. Which one made his heart stop beating? Probably the pneumonia.

I have assumed from the very beginning that we are tracking people who died WITH Covid, and any other assumption or attempt to diagnose it any further is pointless.

That data is from Harris County. 6.6 million.

The number spike on weekends is a dead giveaway that they are cooking the books. Insurance companies should be reporting these doctors and institutions for felony insurance fraud.

I would be looking at the hospital staff on duty Thursday-Saturday, maybe have them learn from those working the Sunday, Monday shift.
