I had a plate put in my head when I was 15 in car wreck. Yeah, running with the wrong guys as a sophomore in high school.

So trust me, I've been there, and it sucks. OTOH, I told your sister in an email that I'm not sure many people knew the difference between my pre-skull fracture, and my post-skull fracture!!!. That likely applies on TA as well.

Keep the faith, watch the headaches, and take it easy.

I just got home from the hospital after spending 5 days in ICU for an acute subdural hematoma. I bumped my head which caused severe brain damage. The doctors said it was the worst case they'd ever seen. I will have to go into detail at another time about specifics, but the surgeons were the best, as was the entire nursing staff. Yes, I would like to do this, but I can't right now. I have learned manythings due to this accident and I wish it not to happen to any of you. Down the road, with TexAgs permission, I would like to share the many, many thoughts that went thru my damaged head about accident prevention, and the value of time - during the agonizing, sleepless nights at the hospital. I want you all to know that this actually was a blessing from God to me for all I learned and my spiritual awakening from it. Everything has a purpose in His plan for our salvation.
Just like you, I'm trying to figure out how to appreciate some current trials right now. Gen 50:20

I took a nasty spill on a motorcycle last August. No helmet, no jacket, no gloves. An old man in a van pulled out in front of me and I splatted hard against the side of his van. It totaled my Harley and put me in the hospital for awhile. Lot's of stitches, 5 surgeries, aches and pains all over the place. 40+ years of riding experience and the first serious accident that I didn't walk away from on my own. Evidently, the Lord isn't finished with me yet.

Recovery can take awhile. Pace yourself. If you get down or depressed, and it happens, make sure and talk to family and friends.

We will keep you in prayer. Take care of yourself.

So sorry to hear this. Like everyone else here, I've always looked forward to opening your threads, knowing I'd get a laugh and an important message about the topic at hand.

As the spouse of someone that went through a different kind, but very severe accident, recovery is tough. You'll have days with big gains and others where it seems like nothing is different. Just always remember you're moving forward in the process no matter what happens on a particular day.
