That's probably the best outcome. I really hope the WH has something like this to drop later. This whole thing has been a joke.
Well that sounds like that sinks this whole dumb thing that is about something never that fundamentally vital or important anyway. That whistleblower needs to be grilled on the details. There is no way if they go to witnesses he should be exempt.

He is in Brennan's innermost circle.

In a nutshell this is probably what happened.

Vindman was the leaker and had access to the WH. He told Charamela about the call and Eric worked with Brennan and Schiff to write a WB complaint. Trump screwed things up when he released the transcript, but they decided to go ahead with impeachment anyways.

...and change the rul s so second hand information could even be used as a whistleblower complaint.

I have no doubt that's what happened, but they planned it out more than that. It didn't happen because of the call. They planned it.

Oh I agree too, but they needed some kind of spark. You know the Brennan pukes have been snooping around the WH for a long time.

The whole thing is disgusting and the real abuse of power. I have zero tolerance for that wrangler dude that came in here last night dancing around like Charlie Chaplin and getting excited about this. It's a stain on this country.

This.

The real abuse of power is a partisan house using the power of impeachment to stain a president and hurt his campaign with no actual crimes committed.

At the end of the official day 2 thread, there is a video with Lindsey Graham and 2 other senators.

At the end, I was pleased to see LG get a bit animated and passionate, but what he said has me wondering something.

***conspiracy warning***

He mentions, and I am paraphrasing, that his democrat counterparts are in such a fervor to get Trump they are fine destroying the office of the president moving forward to do so.

What if that is ultimately the point? They hate the electoral college. They always bring up the fact they have more votes when they lose an election. They do things to cede US authority and liberty to global partners. They operate as if everything should be done through a globalist consensus.

They have already assaulted the judicial branch by packing the court with judges who legislate from the bench rather than adhere to strict interpretation of the law. What if the point is to get the president and hobble the office of the presidency? They don't have the support to ditch the electoral college, so what if the next best thing is to limit the authority of the person elected president by the system?

Even if that is not the plan, I can see the liberal base not at all being upset about damaging the Executive Branch and Executive Powers.

I think it is more to the obvious point that impeachment is now a political cheap date. Its like the nuclear option, the Republicans warned them.

Think about it. Pelosi held the Aritcles for almost a month!!

I will bet anyone a paycheck that the next time the House and the President are from two different parties the president will be impeached.
The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you never know if they are genuine. -- Abraham Lincoln.

Which is why regardless of what is found, it should be thrown out. The Democrats should be too -- but that has to wait till November.

It's worse that that. It has put the president on n a subservient position of the House.

"If we don't like you or what you did then we are going to impeach you. And we are going to subpoena the hell out of everything that you have."

It's destroyed the balance of power.

This is only true if the Senate caves to the insane arguments made by the house.

I full support contentious branches of government. The more they squabble the less time they have to **** up things like the health care system. It also give the minority more power if they maintain a foothold somewhere in the process.

The only way a president gets removed for partisan reasons like the current case: a president is so terrible that the senate swings to a near 66.7% threshold during a midterm. He probably deserves to be removed at that point, it would be a VERY strong repudiation from voters.

That's true....unless the party that abused the power gets so completely destroyed in the election that it becomes a cautionary tale to future House members.

This is the outcome I'm praying for and is the only way to save this country from eventually becoming a socialist state.

A Democrat Impeachment Manager admitted the reason they're doing this is because going to court wouldn't have been quick enough to get this done before the election.

Now we know why we're really here: So Dems can try to rig the 2020 election.

That's encouraging in its way, because it means they have doubts whether they can sufficiently rig the election in November -- probably for logistical reasons.

Indeed it has. Consider the off-chance that Biden actually wins but the House flips to the GOP. He'd be impeached before he got back to the White House after the inaugural ball. And for good cause. He and his family are corrupt.

That was just opening statements. Both sides had a turn. Just heard it confirmed on Fox News that Dems go again tomorrow.

Not sure what Rudy is alluding to. Either he's wrong, or something is going to drop outside of the trial.

Or it refers to the version where some of the defense actually starts late tomorrow. I have heard both Friday and Saturday for the start.

Who says it has to happen in the Senate trial?

I'd guess some news is going to drop outside of that, as a precursor to the Trump defense team going on the clock.

I predict afternoon something drops outside of the Senate so Dems have No chance to cover in opening statements. And we hear from Republicans Saturday.
