The senate has ZERO obligation to help the house complete the investigation that House leadership was too incompetent and impatient to conduct properly and thoroughly.

You act as if they were too lazy to issue subpoenas. The house issued subpoenas. Trump blocked witnesses, which has never happened in an impeachment investigation before. Did not provide any documents, never happened before.

The Clinton and Johnson trial had witnesses.

The dems should call their bluff and take it through the courts if Republicans are committed to a sham trial. Remember when Trump said he wanted Mulvaney/Pompeo to testify(like 3 weeks ago)? He was lying, shocker.

Guilty as hell, the only question is how many Rs he takes down with him. No innocent person blocks witnesses that can help them. Nobody.

The house issued lots of demand letters, and then finally subpoenas. The White House has executive privilege it is lawfully able to assert under the well founded separation of powers principle between the Executive and the Legislative branches, and those under subpoena that are subject to executive privilege by the nature of their relationship or work with the office of the President are obligated to observe the right of the President.

The House has every right to take the matter to federal court, and when given the opportunity to do so, they DECLINED. It would have taken a month or two at most to litigate out, but the Dems, with their pathetically weak legal case, were afraid to take the time to do so, even in instances where they might have won and been able to have the witness they wanted testify.

They were lazy or incompetent or impatient, or really didn't care about having the testimony as much as the misleading talking point that subpoenas were being violated.

Got any more bull**** you would like to have addressed?

Wrong wrong and wrong. In house counsel rarely testify, even if it would help, in order to protect attorney client privilege.

At some point you stop cooperating with those who hound you with constant baseless allegations and investigations that are clearly designed to obstruct your job instead of seeking justice. Simply mind blowing that you would expect Trump to do anything more than blow off this sham investigation after the behavior of the degenerate Democrats over the last three years. The constant witch hunt and reinforcement of double standards is obvious to anyone with a plural number of brain cells. The Democrats say otherwise, but they're lying sacks of ****, so what do you expect? The Democrats and leftists morons are going to lose bigly in the court of public opinion despite their constant flood of liberal propaganda. SAD

Sorry, I'm not usually so harsh, but it's been a long day.

I understand the political messaging the Dems are feeding their base and followers on this that the president must be hiding something because people won't testify, but it simply doesn't hold water because the Dems has an open and established avenue to have those actually subject to testify do so, and they deliberately chose not to pursue it. The only curiosity is why? If they really wanted the testimony, why not test the privilege claims one by one in court?

Do they actually not want the information, perhaps, or would doing so put them at risk in other ways?

Do you trust the motives of someone who insists they really need something, then doesn't go through the established process to get it?

Agreed, it was their intention to influence the election, but they were wrong about how it would go down. Why wouldn't they be, they're wrong about everything else, as has been proven time and time and time again? Yet dumb ass liberals still believe everything they say as gospel.

Again, making up things doesn't bolster your argument. Just another lazy, disingenuous post. Both Clinton and Nixon exercised Executive Privilege. The difference here? Congress followed up through the courts, presented arguments, and ultimately won their case. Do you actually think Schiff and Company wouldn't have taken this to court if it was the slam dunk they have you convinced it is? Please.

Sophomoric at best. It is IMPERATIVE for members of each branch of government to protect the powers granted to them by the Constitution. You have a highly partisan majority of 1 of 2 houses of congress full of people who have determined an outcome they have spent 3+ years trying to find a crime to achieve. The LAST thing a President should do is to respond to ANY demands by those people without Judicial oversight. Your strawman argument is just that.....

IF you truly believe Trump is guilty of some crime and should be removed from office, you should focus your anger at the idiots in the Democrat party. All they had to do was have a fair and open process, release all text of all transcripts, challenge Executive Privilege in the courts, and build the evidence necessary to get bipartisan support. Jesus man, they couldn't even get Trump hating Republican Will Hurd to vote for impeachment.

The Dems completely changed the House rules for the "impeachment" to make it very difficult for the minority party. That had never happened before.

And, if the Dems "take it through the courts", the courts will laugh at them and tell them that since "impeachment" is a completely political process, they won't get involved and the Senate is free to make any rules that it wishes to make...

BTW, glad to see that you're 100% digging in on Guilty until proven innocent...sure bolsters your "libertarian" bonafides...

BTW. The Democrats have been parroting that WW3 was a distraction for impeachment. Well damn, Donald Trump sucks at diverting attention from impeachmnt for very long.

Woah, woah, woah there little buddy. The Senate trial for Clinton did not have witnesses testify at the Senate. In fact they avoided it for a long time. They did depose Blumenthal, Vernon Jordan and Lewinski but just used the video of the deposition. Soooooo yeah the witnesses came during the House portion of the investigation and were then submitted by the managers of the impeachment appointed by the House.

Second there are lots and lots and lots of occasions where Congress goes to the courts to get subpoenas enforced, but they didn't because they would have been smacked down.

It's a sham impeachment. This is clearly an attempt to force an impeachment that starts with Schiff's office coaching a whistleblower and changing the rules ahead of time to even make that possible. If it was so blatant they never would have had to change the rules just to get hearsay in to start proceedings. Please get out of here with that weak (*#@$&.

So when you lose 2020. And I firmly believe at this point you will. You can cry and wail and rend your garments and so forth because that's all you can do. Bless. Your. Heart.

Some Democratic senators say it's time for Pelosi to submit Trump impeachment articles

Quote:

A growing number of Democratic senators are saying it's time for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to submit the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate.

"We are reaching a point where the articles of impeachment should be sent," Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told reporters Wednesday.

In an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Tuesday, Sen. Angus King, a Maine independent who caucuses with the Democrats, said he believes "it is time for the speaker to send" the articles.

"I don't think her holding them puts any particular pressure on" Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., King said. "I think the key vote will come in the middle of the trial."

Meanwhile, Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., told CNN Tuesday in remarks confirmed by NBC News that he is "hoping" Pelosi will soon submit the articles, although he is still concerned about an agreement to hear from witnesses during the Senate trial.

Sens. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., and Joe Manchin, D-W.V., both told The Washington Post on Tuesday that they believe it's time to transmit the articles.
