yes, teaching basic economics in school would be helpful.

so would teaching the dangers of socialism and communism and all the many many times it has failed throughout world history, and also:

go back to teaching civics instead of just "social studies"

bring God, the golden rule, and a basic understanding "right" vs "wrong" back to society and culture

start promoting accountability, responsibility, and hard work again

un-medicate this medicated society- not just of the antidepressants and adhd and all the other medications that too many millions of people are on, but hard drugs, overly processed foods, etc.

bring back mental asylums as well as corporal punishment for committing crimes

My son took such a class in high school this past year. Taught him how to create a family budget, balance a check book, prepare an individual tax return, complete a loan application, read & understand a credit report, etc.

ETA: if more citizens understood basic economics and how the government can totally jack things up, they'd be far less likely to vote for tax & spend Democrats.
