He was 21 years younger than Pele, so he should have won over him. Also six years younger than the other two

I guess I underestimate the foot speed of hockey players because I'd have taken 40-year old Pel everyday.

I looked it up, Gretsky was 21, Pele 42, and the others 27.

Pele had retired from soccer about 8 years earlier, though he signed with a US soccer club (thus, less competitive) and retired from them 4 years before this race.
