Whether we like it or not, those ignorant athletes and celebrities have a massive platform, and use that platform to spread their ignorance to their ignorant followers. Left unchecked, you end up with mass ignorance on a nationwide scale, i.e. the modern left today. You stop mass ignorance by nipping smaller problems in the bud before they become big problems.

Personally, IDGAF about Kyrie Irving or most of the NBA, but if we want to stop a cycle of ignorance and hate before it starts, we need to do something more than require a museum visit.
