I have a real problem with the volume of out of state money that we've seen flow into this guys election coffers. It's not just him he's just the closest example. It was reported that Tim Scott's opponent in South Carolina had more out of state money than instate money which I think was also true for O'Rourke's Senate campaign. In a world where it's clear the politicians don't work for their constituents this makes it clear they won't even be representing the states that elected them. I THINK I'd be comfortable with Texas implementing something restricting or prohibiting out of state money being accepted for Texas elections. I don't know, it's a problem I'm just not sure the solution. More government is almost never the right answer...

I've mentioned in other threads but I think there needs to be election fundraising reform in ALL states that says any given candidate cannot receive donations from a person or business residing outside that candidates district.

So...
Governor, State AG, Fed Senate, etc... nothing from outside the state
County Commissioner, County Judge, etc... nothing from outside county

Basically if you can legally vote for them then you can donate to them.

I'd be VERY supportive of that but my initial speedbump that I see is that instead of Soros/Koch Bros Writing a check to Beto/Abbott for Gov PAC they instead write a check to the Texas ACLU/Texas Chamber of Commerce who then turn around and write checks.
