"We really thought Musk was going to pull this one out," said Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal. "The yes votes had a strong lead when I went to bed last night, but that was before we counted all the mail-in votes that one of our employees found in locker 142 at the bus terminal."

Nation Breathes Sigh Of Relief As Ocasio-Cortez Comes Out Against Having Children

U.S.The nation breathed a collective sigh of relief Monday while watching footage in which Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared to come out against the concept of reproducing.
Stating they realized that we really dodged a bullet this time, citizens all over the country expressed their sudden sense of comfort and serenity at the fact that Ocasio-Cortez would probably never have children. Fear and trepidation had swept the nation upon the realization that Ocasio-Cortez likely possessed the capability to reproduce actual human children, whom she would then ingrain with her values and politics for their entire childhoods before they would go on to have political careers of their own.
"This is a huge burden off my chest," said Lyle Billings of Lawrence, Kansas. "I suddenly realized that there could be two, three, or even four little Ocasio-Cortezes running around one day. So I totally support the congresswoman's position against having children. It's really what's best for the nation as a whole."
While the nation is typically baffled at Ocasio-Cortez's positions, her bold stand against having children has become her most popular policy position yet, garnering a 97% approval rating.

Elon never said anything about unregulated free speech. He said there would be transparent content moderation that would treat everyone equally and open-source to the public. Such a straw man argument.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

Oh and back to the original question, you bet I'll take the billionaire over the guy with a master's degree. Who knows who gave the MD guy the scrap of paper but the guy that managed to get a billion, non lottery dollars knows what the hell he's doing.

And the answer in the U.S.A. is yes. Because the SCOTUS said so in the Skokie case. Nazis could march in Skokie Illinois.

Freedom of speech includes awful speech, too. How it works here.

Cool starry bra alert: After my first husband was killed and my only brother a week later in a separate accident, I had to move back to Texas because of my Mom. Went to Austin, bought a house in NW Austin. I was 30. My neighbors were all older retired IBM folks. Very good neighbors, helpful, concerned about me since I was so recently widowed and welcomed me to the neighborhood with a cook out. I was sitting there and the subject came down to wearing the flag as a part of clothing, and burning the American flag as political expression. Being older people they were angered and aghast about it. I just sat and listened for awhile and finally said in a low voice, "Because the Supreme Court ruled that it was speech and under the First Amendment it is not prohibited and cannot be prohibited." They looked at me with jaws dropped. I said, "Wait! You guys didn't know I'm a lawyer? Not practicing right now, but I am a licensed attorney in two states. Don't have my wallet with me but I can run next door and get my Texas Bar card if you want proof." Silence for a moment or two, then one of them asked, "Do you agree with that ruling?" My answer was, "As a legal principle of the Constitution, yes. As a proud American? No. Wish this subject had never even brought up. But it has and was done and it is now the law of the land."

Reading thru that Hinania guy's Twitter feed I almost thought it was a satire account similar to Titania McGrath. Sadly it appears legit.

There was a great HBO movie about the Skokie case back in the 80s. Sadly today's ACLU doesn't resemble at all the organization that fought that free speech battle.

Agree. I hated that case but my legal training was it was correct under the First Amendment.

This many years later, it is still correct but the numbers of people who espouse the downfall of the US have grown in numbers, and crossed into mainline Democrat policies.

My initial though was negative, but after a few moments I was proud for our country. What other country values the ideal of free speech to the point that even small minorities who espouse such terrible principles can be heard as long as they are express them peacefully. The ACLU stood up for freedom at that time. Not so much today.
