Almost 20 years ago I attended an officers PME talk by (then) LtGen James Mattis in which he talked about some of the ridiculousness that CENTCOM staff was trying to impose on him after the seizure of Camp Rhino in 2001. The CENTCOM J2 had sent a message to Mattis' G-2 that forbade him from sharing some imagery data with coalition partners because of the sourcing of the imagery. Mattis told his G-2 to forward the message to GEN Tommy Franks with this comment.

"GEN Franks, Received message below from your HQ. Understand that the enemy has infiltrated your staff and is seeking to undermine cooperation between our forces and allies. Will disregard."
