For those who may doubt that God the Father is literally the Father of our spirits I will refer you to the following scriptures:
Num. 16:22 "And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the SPIRITS of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?"
Num. 2:16 "Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation."
Jer. 1:4-5 "Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly I KNEW thee; and before thou camest out of the womb I sancified thee, and I ORDAINED thee a prophet unto the nations."
Heb. 12:9 "Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the FATHER of our spirits and live?"
I am sure you remember the scripture that says upon death the body turns to dust and the spirit RETURNS to God who gave it. It is impossible to return to a place you never had been. You might go there but not return.
