Can't we have a place where these folks can go and leave everybody else alone? It seems like they are making a concerted effort to overwhelm the board with their proseletyzing.

I would rather drink Jim Jones's kool aid than have to read their posts to get to the substantive stuff on the board.

Maroni baloney board would be a nice name for it

huisache -Feel free to join in. For some reason Mormonism is very interesting to a lot of people. Some even think they can disprove it on this board.

Try not to drink too much of YOUR spiritual cool-aid.

PS -it's "Moroni '

In the long run, it may be best for them to post here in the midst of other religious topics. That way their error is seen *and* addressed by the rest of us, so that Bible novices won't get sucked in.

It is very difficult to convert a Mormon because they are so bought into the idea that the Bible has been corrupted, and that we need "Another Testament". We must show them that the Bible is what it says it is: true, inspired, complete, and perfect.

Some golden facts about Mormonism -

1. They will claim (at first) that they support and believe in the Bible...as long as it suits them. Once you show it where it convicts Mormonism for the fraud that it is they will turn on it like a pit bull.

2. *Any* religion that seeks to advance its own purposes by attacking the Bible as contradictory, incomplete, and corrupted is NOT a legitimate religion.

3. The Bible is the perfect, imperishabble and enduring word of God that contains all things that pertain to life and godliness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped unto every good work. This rules out the need for the BOM. John 20:30-31, 2 Tim 3:16-17, I Peter 1:23.

4. Most of the time Mormons will agree that if we pick up the Bible, read it, believe, and obey what it teaches then we can be saved. This also shows we do not need the BOM.

5. Gal 1:8 specifically warns against anyone - even an angel - bringing another Gospel (and the BOM identifies itself as "another Testament"...same concept).

And no ibmagg, I won't be responding to this particular thread again. Enough of my limited time is already eaten addressing the other two threads we have been on. Unlike you, I am not retired (and congratulations on that, BTW).

Acts 2:38...this means you!

Topics on this board go in cycles; last year it was the "Catholic" board.

I would much rather have a Longhorn forum where we can talk about the GREATNESS of Mack Brown, Jamal Charles, and InVinceable.

If there was a true University, it would reside in Austin TX

huisache- Just skip over the Mormon stuff, and start your own threads...

huisache - One factor is that certain posters have the child-like ability of always wanting to have the last word. Because of that, it takes these threads much longer to die a natural death. In addition, he keeps posting meaningless stuff (just to keep threads at the top) even if no one else replies.

Hank- There are places for you orangebloods too discuss such mundane things. Here is a site that will help you find others of your ilk-

If you want to be the typical boorish t-sip, TexAgs has kindly provided a place for you here-

Rab91 -it would be the child like "desire" to have the last word. That is really not the case for when somebody posts that which I agree I usually leave it alone.

Hank, is not a teasip. I think (could be wrong)he is not a native texan and just grew fond of following the longhorns. We never claimed to be perfect!

I'd say there are just as many non-mormons starting threads about the subject as ibm. (Has Modano EVER started a thread here that wasn't about Mormons?) It's just the current obsession.

Actually I was born and raised in San Antonio. No I never attended Texas, but I did grow up a Texas Longhorn fan. If I had the grades coming out of high school I would have attended Texas but I didn't. After completing an associates degree I was offered a great job so went to work.

No matter I'm still a big fan of the Longhorns.

BTW I don't totally hate the Ags, one of my mentors growing up was an Aggie ex-football player, that I have a tremendous amount of respect for.

BTW IBM, I'm a Mormon, native Texan, Longhorn, and Spurs fan. How much closer to perfection can I possibly get

Well you could be Catholic, wasn't born in Texas but got here as quick as you could, a Fighting Texas Aggie, and a 'Stros fan (because everyone knows that baseball is God's sport).
