Guillerma Zapata (Guille) received a Gideon Testament at an engineering university, and after reading it, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Guille got a job as a petroleum engineer in a small town in Peru which was believed to be a stronghold of witches and warlocks.

Once he was settled in his new job, Guille put up a sign saying, "Mining Engineer Gives Free Bible Lessons." No one attended his meetings.

It was raining very hard one day, and water was seeping into Guille's house. In desperation, he began bailing the water out through the open front door.

Suddenly, a filthy dog darted into Guille's house and grabbed his Gideon Testament before running back outside again.

Guille ran after the dog to retrieve his Bible, but before he could reach him, the dog ran into the shack of a known witch doctor. Guille decided to give it up rather than enter that cursed place.

Two weeks later, the witch doctor knocked on Guille's door and told him he wanted to receive Bible lessons. He said that one rainly evening, an extremely ugly dog brought a little blue book into his hut. He opened it to Psalm 115, and began to read about the sin of idolatry.

As he read, he began to understand that something important was missing in his life, and he wanted to know what it was he needed.
Guille shared with this witch doctor God's amazing love and forgiving grace.

The witch doctor, Leoncio Guerrero, did accept Jesus Christ as his Savior, then went out and led his whole family to the Lord.

Later, Leoncio introduced his niece to Guille, and she is now Mrs. Ghillerma Zapata. Together, Guille and his bride pastor a church in Jaen, Peru.
