What's with the R&P board lately? There haven't been any good discussions in quite a while. Where are all of our posters?

And here I thought you were going to talk about Eugene Boring, a friend of my dad's who was a seminary professor for a long time.

Must have been tough going through life being known as Professor Boring. However, Dr Boring was anything but. He and Fred Craddock were probably two of the most enjoyable speakers ever produced on any college campus anywhere.

That's what happens when discussions ultimately end up going nowhere.

It seems like everyone is saying the same things over and over... just not that interesting.

Several things have been done to death:

1. Instruments in worship
2. Eternal security v.s. internal insecurity
3. Should Christians drink any kind of alcohol?
4. Basic differences between Prots and Caths.


Then we have those that start about 3-5 thousand threads a day about basically organic fertalizer.

Lately, it had been a kind of, well,....yawn.

Maybe we could pick a scripture and try to comment/apply/discuss/edify/ it.

Who knows.

I am basically here to be challenged and to be edified. Not a whole lot of either has taken place lately. And, I might add, since I am a frequent poster, part of that responsibility is mine.

Well this is a religion and phil. board. We will usually talk about the same stuff!

Here's one - Will Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists all go to hell when they die?

I believe non-believers who have not accepted Christ into their heart will go to hell.

In life, we have a choice: Will we choose to be punished for our own sins, or will we choose Jesus' gift of paying for our sins for us. Those are the only two options.

We also have a choice. A choice to become indoctrinated into a faith based ideaological system and we can also choose which one we want to follow. We can also choose not to follow any of the theological based belief systems and rely on common sense, rational thinking, and logical deductions.

As long we don't fall into a theocracy we still have that choice.

We can also choose not to follow any naturalistic nontranscendental, I am ruled by empericism, system and rely on common sense and the obvious pattern of reality that order produces order, and chaos produces chaos. We can also be honest and realize that logic is simply a consistent pattern of reasoning, invented by the ancient Greek, bisexual men, and is not the untimate way to establish truth.
