Well, since I am not God, I am lacking that information!

Since, in my opinion, heaven is a human concept to award socially acceptable behavior, I would say, No (when you are dead, you're dead, dude).

The afterlife is just like the before life; nothing.

Some were saved, others weren't.

Read Acts 2. Notice especially verses 23 and 36. Then read Acts 4 -- same council that condemned Jesus a few weeks earlier threatened Peter and John to stop preaching the resurrection.

the real question is what about Pilate? he really tried to let Jesus go...but still sentenced him and said that he was "innocent of this man's blood" as he washed off his hands...which is ironic because he washed off the only thing that could save him.

I guess it depends on what your religious beliefs are. No right or wrong answer on this one.

I think Pilate is more guilty than the Jews. He knew the man was guilty of no sin, he had the power to save or kill him, yet he didn't use his power to do the right thing. Washing his hands did nothing. Jesus' blood is still on his hands in my opinion.

but if Pilate had not sentenced him to death, Jesus could not have died for our sins. Isn't Pilate necessary to our salvation?

I wasn't trying to say that it wasn't possible for Pilate to be saved...i was just saying it was ironic.

actually, that's not true. Jesus' death was not 100% dependent on Pilate...or any other specific person for that matter. if Pilate would have refused to sentence Jesus, His death still could have happened at the hands of some other government official. If Pilate had sent Jesus over to Herod one more time, it could have happened there. who knows...

the only person necessary for our salvation is Jesus. but i see what you're saying. someone had to sentence him. only God can judge that person.

Pilate was a politician-nothing has changed with them since that time. A lie is not a lie, just a misspeak. Pilate misspoke and was obviously misquoted on top of that.

agree someone would have sentenced him to death. Pilate has always been interesting to me in that regard.

Judas Iscariot also played a pivotal role in the crucifiction.

Jesus said, "I lay down my life" (at the times and place of His choosing) Jesus seems to console Pilate basically telling him he wasn't in control, but merely put there to do his duty.

Read the account in John.

We do not know if Pilate became a Christian, we do know some of those very Jewish priest who had Jesus put to death did repent and become disciples.

I personally think that Pilate and Doubting Thomas are two of the most overratedly burdened with guilt of all the people described.

Pilate didnt want a riot..nor did he want to be killed or lose his position. Many would have done the same.
