If what you said is true, then why did God kill the people who took communion with a wrong heart in the scripture? What has changed?

Could you please specifically point to chapter and verse, so I could read where that is?
Also, if God were still adhering to such a policy, then again, the question remains why would the church need to guard whether only the faithful took communion. If God continued such a policy, the problem would take care of itself, would it not? (I am not being pithy, but merely attempting to pose a valid question).
