Howdy yall.
This has been a difficult weekend. I had a group of friends visiting my sister and I out of town for a big festival in our local community. Friday night we received news that one of my fathers best friends passed away. Though he had been sick, the timing was somewhat unexpected. My dad had planned on driving down to see him on Saturday but received the news only the evening prior. His beloved wife passed away only a few months ago. I would appreciate any and all prayers for them and their family.
Come early Saturday morning, the next day, I wake up to loud screaming and commotion in the next room over, one of my best friends having a horrible seizure and not breathing on the floor as his brother is screaming at him to wake up. Glory be to God for the rapid 911 response time. From his brother waking up to having EMTs at the house was less than 6min, although in the moment I would've sworn to you it had been 30min or more.
We spent the weekend in the hospital with him and his mother since she flew across the country to be with him. He did recover and was mostly back to normal after a few hours, but after viewing the MRI they found a tumor in his brain. At the moment it doesn't appear to be operable and that radiation isn't an option, although fortunately it seems that it was caught early enough that there are other options.
He and his family are handling it like absolute champs, but we would love as many prayers as possible for both of these amazing families.
It is a miracle that it happened here while they were visiting, where he was sharing a room with others. Who knows what could've been the result if he was at home alone.
