Is "caring for creation" a theological question?

"Ecology is the result of how the equation of the interaction between cosmology and anthropology is resolved. Therefore, an ecological approach that seeks to get to the root of the issues cannot avoid addressing both of these dimensions."

Vatican and Pope Leo release new document that explores these issues in depth. Will be an interesting read and a challenge to live out.

I would say until people stop putting politics and money into the roots of how we deal with ecology then it doesn't really matter as nothing will get effectively accomplished.

Having a peer level adversary in China who does not care about the planet does not help

A summary phrase of what the bible says a bout man and creation is that we are to be stewards of the earth. Not sure if many, if any, Christians would disagree.

The disagreement is about HOW to steward. As that question is heavily influenced by corporate and political entities, all answers as to HOW should be viewed with heavy scrutiny

What does this even mean?

It's pretty straight forward:

You can't fix environmental problems (ecology) without also examining how humans understand themselves (anthropology) and their place in the universe (cosmology).

I took it to mean that there is an inseparable connection between man and creation.

ETA: Understanding this means that man is a steward of the environment and is responsible for caring and ensuring its survival (sustainable).

Then they should say it in more comprehensible terms. Perhaps this is a bad example and that I'm just a dumb electrical engineer, but modern Rome tends to be quite verbose in the documents they publish and said documents tend to utilize language akin to progressive NGOs. Clarity is a lost art for them. But then again, I may just be a dumb electrical engineer.

I understand where you're coming from and it's not the everyday lingua franca but it's really the best way to say it and it's not meme made up academic progressive NGO speak.

Does this cover all of the bases? Cosmology, Anthropology, Theology, Ecology?

Psalm 8
O Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth,
Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!
2 From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength
Because of Your adversaries,
To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
4 What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
And You crown him with glory and majesty!
6 You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
7 All sheep and oxen,
And also the beasts of the field,
8 The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea,
Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord,
How majestic is Your name in all the earth!
