I heard something along these lines in a church sermon recently.
Consider all of the amazing things God has promised in the future in heaven and in eternity. No more curse, no death, etc. If God was not present, this heaven or eternity would become hell. The reward of heaven is God Himself and nearness to Him.
How often have I given thanks for the provisions of God (which is a great thing to do) but not pursued getting to know God better through what He's revealed of Himself?
How often do I read through the scriptures out of duty or routine but forget to do so with the mindset of getting to know God deeper?
How often have I boasted in how great my church, denomination, or pastor is but failed to boast about how great God is and introduce people to Jesus?
1 Cor 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
Rev. 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Behold, the tabernacle (dwelling) of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, 4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away."
In your presence is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11
