Indicatives are statements of fact that God has done and promised to us

Imperatives are if you believe then do this statements.

If you read the bible correctly the Indicatives what God has done interpret the imperative if you read it backwards you get the wrong interpretation.

Most of the Roman Catholic and Evangelical world see the gospel as a second chance to now do what God calls us to do, rather than the certainty that God has saved us and done our righteousness for us, so that we then live in the trust of that promise, motivated by gratitude, love and the Holy Spirit living in us.

When were read it backwards we put the burden of proof on ourselves and fill our heads with uncertainty and anxiety.

The gospel answers how can sinful man be justified by a holy God.

Those of you who love James are trying take an answer to how can man justify his faith when living like he does not believe. You are offering an answer to a question that is asking a different question.

Two different questions two different answers, it all gets back to indicatives and imperatives.

Depends on whether you emphasize James or Paul. Reading a great book on that right now.
