I'm sure this would be wildly unpopular, but I feel like working through the Catechism of the Catholic Church could be worthwhile. It deals with many matters relative also to Protestant Christianity. The majority of the Catechism is scripturally based so you could go through it and determine what you think they have right and what you think they're misunderstanding. I'm sorry and apologize in advance if this post was completely unhelpful, but it was the first thing that came to mind as the Catechism is widely a Bible study in itself
Howdy, it is me!

Or go through the Westminster Shorter Catechism.

One of the confessions (1689 for example) would also be awesome.

Yes no doubt. Dissecting any catechism would be definitely worthwhile

JC Ryle's commentaries on the gospels. Pick any one. Free online. Easily digestible and highly practical.

I would be very careful of any study that is contrary to the group's beliefs specifically in regards to soteriology.
Protestant is a broad definition and I feel must be differentiated from Reformed/Calvinism.
If your group is Calvinistic, then by all means study that. But it can get pretty divisive.

My Bible study group has a broad range of beliefs on non salvific things and a wide variety of denomination and non denominations.

We are able to discuss in a civil and loving manner but we are old and all mature Christians.

We just pick a book of the Bible and go through it very slowly and systematically. I like to let the Bible speak for itself.

Thanks for the suggestions.

We ended up going with a study book from Lifeway. They had several options for adult Sunday School/Small Group.

I find the Bible Project videos to be a good source. Just pick a book of the Bible. Each week everyone reads that portion of the book, watch the video, and then discuss.

The Whole Counsel of God podcast goes chapter by chapter through the bible. Whatever you choose to be the handout, you'll get way more out of listening to 2-3 hours of context and historical interpretations on whatever bible passage you're studying.

If you start listening to this podcast while walking through a book in the bible, you'll realize just how much is being left unsaid with a plain reading.

Looking for a study too. We are a small group of men who meet weekly. Various Protestant Denominations and Catholic. We've been meeting for 20 years! Some folks are remote so we bring them in via Google Meet. We prefer having a DVD as part of any study. We've tried online studies but we're too old and technology challenged to get the streaming to work where the remote guys can watch it!
