The Vatican has approved the diocesan inquiry into the martyrdom of Pakistani Catholic Akash Bashir.
Bashir was a 20 year old security volunteer at his local Catholic Church and trapped a terrorist trying to detonate a car bomb inside the Church. The terrorist detonated the bomb and killed himself and Akash as well as two others.
At a church of Christ in the same town, a terrorist from the same organization detonated a bomb at a CoC service and over a dozen died with 70+ injuries.
Bashir was declared a "servant of God" 2 years ago and it is my hope he will be canonized, as he is a wonderful example to young Arab Catholics about the power of the faith.
