Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais passed on shortly after falling down some stairs earlier this week.

He was one of the 4 Econe consecrations, and his passing along with the excommunication of Bishop Williamson, leaves the Society in a very difficult place with only two aging bishops remaining; both in their mid-late 60's.

The society has been hesitant to broach the consecration of new bishops so as to avoid new strife with the Vatican, but I do not believe they will leave themselves in a position where they would be left without episcopal representation.

Ave Maria...

REQUIEM aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

RIP to a faithful shepherd.

With only Bps. Fellay and De Galaretta left in the Society, I imagine it won't be long that new bishops are consecrated, hopefully with approval from Pope Francis.
