I've been listening to a podcast recently called Reformation Red Pill. Several months ago, they did a 4 part series on reforming education. What I have listened to so far has been very good. I'll link the 1st episode at the bottom for anyone who may be interested.
The guest for the series is Pete Hegseth, who I was vaguely familiar with from his appearances on Fox News. I knew nothing about his past which is the point of this post. He was divorced from his first wife after cheating on her in 2009. He remarried a year later and had 3 kids before getting a co-worker pregnant in 2017. He then divorced his 2nd wife and married the co-worker in 2019. To my knowledge, Hegseth was a professing Christian throughout this time period.
Sometime after his third marriage, Hegseth began attending the same church as the guy who puts on this podcast. I would be shocked if he were allowed to be a member without showing genuine signs of repentance, but I have not been able to find anything where he has spoken openly about his past failures. It makes me hesitant to share or even finish the discussion thinking I'm listening to a serial adulterer's thoughts on the biblical approach to education.
So my question is, in a situation like this, should we expect public repentance from public figures? Or am I being too judgmental?
