In house churches and meetings in factories, offices. Not in the state approved churches. This explosive growth is taking place all over Asia: Nepal, Vietnam, northern India.

Thanks for posting. They are risking it all for the Lord! I'm currently halfway through a book put out by The Voice of Martyrs call "Whom Shall I Fear".. It's a daily that tells the stories of those daring to worship in those countries hostile to Christians. Stories of courage and great faith in the face of persecution and even death…Certainly makes me take a look at myself and question why I don't do more here where we are free to worship as we please…May God be with them all!

Amazing. I have a friend who has been a Christian professor there for 25 years. I will be travelling there twice this year. It would be awesome to visit a home church.

I hate to think that our nations could come to arms against each other.

The house church growth movement probably fits within the evangelical charismatic context without the traditional divisions of organized churches. It is locally centered without the authority, governing and bureaucratic structure of Protestant, Catholic and Orthodox polities. Think first century Christianity.

I don't believe it will be in a vacuum. It will be very Protestant and culturally Chinese. By necessity.

A friend of mine was visiting a home church some 25 years ago, and asked her Chinese friend why there was a glow in the room around the worshippers. The Chinese woman answered excitedly "Shekinah glory!"

My point - Catholic, protestant, charismatic, evangelical...whatever it is, it ain't fitting in our rigid definition of anything.
