This could be a slippery slope.

I don't know much about Binny Hinn other than he was part of the 80s televangelist craze. I can tell you I trust him more than the IRS especially the new legion or agents from the Biden administration.

Binny Hinn has been in trouble before under other administrations. Unfortunately he came up at a time when there were many grifters. I don't think he's being targeted politically. Even republicans do shady stuff...believe it or not. And on that note, I'm not sure why the IRS ever gave into to Scientology to make them tax exempt. They are the ultimate in grift.

I agree he isn't a reputable person. My concern is allowing the state to define what is religion or not, what is miraculous or not. Look what they did to marriage. Mr. Hinn will meet us reward soon enough.

The government does not do that, though.

They do in this case apply standards for non-profit status. One of those standards is the avoidance by non-profit directors of personal benefit (or "Inurement"). Non-profits are not exempt from fraudulent activity, either, which is what is being investigated in this case.

Agreed...and that's my point with the whole Scientology thing. I think its precarious because people can and have abused the status for self interests and to skirt the law.
