Lets try this again..I suppose a simple yes or no would suffice. Any additional thoughts would be nice as well and welcomed. Then perhaps state what religion/relationship do you adhere to? If you do..

The first problem is that you're relying on the NIV to give you an accurate literal translation of the verse itself....

My mother was a bible school teacher, so I got plenty of Christianity as a youth, and remain a Christianity sympathizer, but do not honestly believe there is an afterlife.

People have a strong tendency to identify with and join GROUPS.
We are talking tribes, politics, teams, languages, religions, etc.
And as part of their allegiance, many are willing to LIE.

This is perhaps one of the most powerful answers to the question I have ever heard on the topic of truth:



I suppose I would arguing that lying isn't demonic in and of itself. Rather, telling the truth puts you in alignment with what is Godly and good while lying generates choas and fear, i.e you create a Hell around yourself. While telling the truth might be painful now, it sets you free of having to keep up with the stress of managing an ever growing web of lies. Behaving in that manner as an individual, makes you more resilent in doing the same against a group or social force. As mentioned in the video, if there are not enough individuals with the intestinal fortitude to speak the truth, the Hell created becomes evermore consuming. This is true in our families, in our communities, and in our world. How many died to the lies told about Jews during the Holocaust? How many died to the disinformation about WMDs in Iraq? How many are going to have to die about the lies of "Nazi's in Ukraine"? Most importantly, how many of our sons are going to die regarding "threats to democracy" in our own country?

Satan is the father of lies. But I'm not sure what the relevance is to my post?

Can a gun be evil? I don't believe that to be true as a gun has no soul. Rather is is the person who pulls the trigger for ill intent the one who is evil. As such, can a lie be evil if it has no soul. It doesn't exist unless someone breathes it into existence. If no one spreads it, it ceases to exist. I would therefore argue that the it is a person who lies (Thou shall not lie) or perpetuates a lie as who will receive judgment.

The gist of all this is: IF the US Gov (Pentagon especially) is lying and deceiving the American people regarding the extraterrestrial reality, are they not playing the role of Satan? Evidently, people have been murdered in order to maintain the lie. Satan was a murderer from the beginning. Now unless the US Gov repents, will they not receive that judgment?

Which is more demonic, the entities which many believe to be demons, or the lying about the reality per the US Gov? It wasn't a weather balloon...

What are your thoughts about the Pentagon lying regarding this issue?

I recently had a discussion with my father about lying. The question was:

If you were a graduating high school student & to get into one of these top elite universities all you had to do was lie on your application/essay that you were an oppressed LGBTQ+ individual growing up in a conservative Texas suburbs and that's what would get you into that university, should you lie?

The stats show that just getting into those top ivy schools open doors & presents you with opportunities you wouldn't get at a local state school. & Once you are accepted you could say "well I was questioning my sexuality, but now I've determined I am straight". Why would this lie be wrong?

The Bible's prohibition against it seems to allow no exceptions.

But we all, or at least most of us, believe in exceptions. For example, in war it is not only OK but admirable to deceive your enemy. If someone broke into your home and, at gunpoint, ordered you to give them all your money, very few of us would condemn someone who claimed that they had less money than they actually possessed. Folks who lied to the Nazis to protect Jews that they had hidden are viewed as heroes.

The government putting out a false story to cover for an accidental release of classified information may fall into one of the exceptions.

The pentagon/DOD/Us Govt is an organization, not a person. An organization does not have a soul. The organization is made up of people, and all people are flawed.

Someone in an organization makes a decision to cover up (lie about) something, possibly with good intent. Organizations tend to maintain momentum and continue to deflect from past mistakes, so the cover up/lies continue, likely with the intent of protecting the organization (good intent?).

That doesn't necessarily mean the organization is "of the devil". The lie doesn't necessarily condemn the person to the devil, as there is opportunity for repentance and forgiveness.

Is the declassification of relevant information repentance? Does it absolve all those who lied for the organization of the past lies?
