The Gaza Health Ministry has reportedly been proven pretty accurate in past conflicts. The IDF estimates also align reasonably close to what the Gaza health ministry has been putting out. I believe the IDF estimates around 2 civilians killed for every one Hamas fighter. And they last said that at a time when they estimated they had killed over 5000 Hamas. That corresponded to roughly 15,000, and the Gaza Health Ministry was putting out numbers around 16,000 at the time. They also do not differentiate killed as Hamas or civilians when giving the death toll.

There is no such thing as a just war fought unjustly. The USSR was invaded by Nazi Germany and had every justification to push them out of their nation and fight them all the way back to Berlin. They were fighting a just war. However, they lost all moral advantage when they starting raping, enslaving and slaughtering civilians all the way from Moscow to Berlin.

It baffles me that the hardline Israeli government will come out and directly admit mistakes, but people in the US will defend them like everything is going perfect. Like when Netanyahu admitted that the military had failed it objective to minimize civilian casualties. Or when the Israeli Defense Dept admits that the military shot unarmed hostages waving white flags that were being released by Hamas.
