I'd like to start a thread about sharing if we were raised by Scripture affirming parents (yes, Catholics and Orthodox count).
Are you a Christian who still affirms the authority of the Scripture and attends church?
Are you a Christian who still affirms the authority of Scripture but do not attend a church right now?
Or did your parents not go to church? Maybe they were atheists or agnostics or of some other religion? Did they believe in God and the Bible and still not take you to church?
this is a fun get to know your neighbor thread,
Raised by in a Christian household: Yes, church every sunday without fail unless we were in College Station, devotions after dinner every night, and wednesdays during lent/advent, youth group/VBS all of that.
Yes, I am still a Christian. My church attendance in spotty and something that I am working on. Having a weekend work schedule has really really devolved my church attendance and I need to be more disciplined.
My parents got divorced, but I often say that the one good example they showed from their marriage was being in lockstep in their faith and completely on the same page about raising us in the Lutheran faith and incorporating it into our lives.
I went through an angry at God phase (who doesnt?) and studied and really got into theology and learning more about different faiths and denominations..but at the end of the day, I was still led back to the simple grace and justification of the Lutheran doctrine.
