You're giving into the Beast when you look at porn. It's been 8 months since I have looked at such filth. It's every man's battle. But I just wanted to over-post some more because I thank God for the liberty that many of us (who do not) are experiencing.

And when I messed up close to 8 months ago, it was rare then as well because God has done a miracle for me to keep off of those sites.

Keep me accountable because this is not a boast. Many here are doing better than me.

Galatians 5:16-18

16 "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law."

The other aspect is that quite often, people in porn are human trafficking victims. So patronizing their business supports human trafficking.

I'll pray for you and I ask you to pray for me because just when you think you have it under control is when the enemy attacks!

2 Corinthians 10:
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

1 John 2:16 (ESV)

"For all that is in the world the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life
is not from the Father but is from the world."

God gave us that neck muscle that helps when we see a beautiful woman in yoga pants or something. He also gave us eye lids. This helps some.

It's also a problem because of being at work and hearing and seeing their conversations…

2 Corinthians 9:8 (ESV)

8 "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[a] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."

2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)

9 {But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.}

Having daughters cured me of the porn demon. I kept thinking this is someone's daughter and also a daughter of God.

Porn is the perversion of something beautiful for the spiritual destruction of man.

+++

I too have struggled and continue to struggle with porn. Paul writes about a thorn in his side that keeps him humble, and so I have mine. It seems to come in bursts not on a daily or weekly basis, but more likely when I am stressed with work or home. I guess the devil does know his target.

I can tell ahead of time when I could be susceptible by noticing women as I drive around town. Without even consciously thinking, I will find my eyes locked in on a beautiful woman. As someone who studies form, I try to make the excuse that seeing beauty is part of my business, but I am no different than other men. I know I need to practice "custody of the eyes" as it is called in the RCC.

It's one thing to look at a pretty sky and marvel at the beauty of God's creation- it is quite another thing to dwell on a formation of clouds and let your mind wander.

Thank you for your testimony and honesty. Sexual sin and pornography addiction are so pervasive and commonly accepted in our society. Very, very difficult sin pattern to break. Prayers for you brother.

This is powerful, brother.

If you have a daughter or daughters, they are growing up in a world where the young men will be massively assaulted by our culture, the devil, easy availability, dismissal as "not that big a deal", and more.

When I was a young adult, you had to actually drive to the smut store and risk being seen. You don't have to do that any more.

Pray for the sons of America. We need strong, God fearing men not corrupted by the Deciever in this way. We need men who don't shape their vision of beauty, sex, and relationships on the evil lies of the world and the devil.

I pray for my daughter and all of yours.

God raise up good, god-fearing men to be their husbands.

My daughter just pulled my grandkids (age 2&4) from the Methodist church day school she taught at because they stayed in the UMC and went woke.

Same church day school my wife taught my daughters at.

Sad

And no way my grand kids go to public school.

But I have the resources to send them to private, conservative Christian schools. A lot of folks do not.

So frustrating

Hopefully you can find a classical Christian school.

Was expecting more of these kind of comments. Hey man…i struggle with that as well. Keep me in your prayers.

Verse 3 of "It is Well"

"My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!"

very true, it can come in the form of something benign that festers if you're not guarding your heart to temptation. Been there, and still need buttressing from the lord.
