It would depend on if it's true or not. At least in reference to 12 years ago, if it's another post I'd have to look at it. I'll be honest it seems some posters here have a context I'm unaware of.

You seem like a good dude with misguided beliefs about the left so in general a very ordinary Texan of your age. I haven't seen you post anything worthy of any sort of extreme reaction either way. Duncan referenced some Covid thread and something about firing someone for liking Obama. The first one seems silly to feel offended about. The second one I could see as an unnecessary attack on character if totally made up-but it seems like a weird thing to totally make up. Maybe you are talking past each other but neither one falls into a category of universal censure for posters not in the know.

The context is
1)Derm makes a thread claiming that he fired someone because they voted for obama.
2)Thread blows up and goes national. I believe it was picked up on Fox, dailykos and some other national outlets.
3)Derm realizes that his "made up story" got out of hand and recants saying he made it all up.
4) somete between 1 and 2 above I lost interest and just wrote him off as a loon.
12 years later
5)Derm starts a thread about how leftist are wrong and dangerous.
6)I recall him firing someone for simply voting for someone he didnt like.
7)Derm gets offended and calls me a lair for *checks notes* beleiving what he posted

I don't wish to be another voice against you here, but if I can impart some food for thought - there's not a person here that I believe to be an outright liar. Humans misremember. They make assumptions and leap to conclusions that you may or may not be making. They also see parts of stories instead of the whole story. They also see a different perspective and have different biases than you do.

None of those things makes them liars. Setting them up as liars is not a genuine way of handling disagreements. It only erodes your own credibility.
