There are reports of Euphrates losing substantial water levels and record droughts in the region ( data is probably not the most reliable) but this is interesting.

"The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east."
Revelation 16:12 ESV

Disclaimer: I don't know historically how significant this drought is obviously probably no one does but the locals are saying it's significant so I find it interesting.

The climate has been changing since creation. God is in control. To think man can cause climate change is crazy imho.

Really? Crazy? How many species have we wiped out? How many changes have we made to the planet? Can you find a similar period in the past where global temperatures changed this rapidly?

Species have been disappearing since creation. Even before man was around.

Sure we have made a ton of changes to the planet with buildings, cities, pollution, mines, etc.

We have not changed the climate. The climate has changed on its own.

The Middle East as a whole has suffered from drought this year. It's been an issue in recent years and was one of the causes of the Syrian civil war.

As far as Jordan goes, it's bad enough that my house has run out of water about half the weeks over the last year. We get weekly water deliveries by truck. Some have been missed. The drought has exacerbated tensions between Israel and Jordan but the new Israeli government, while still hardliners, want better relations with Jordan and things have improved. Hopefully, joint water desalination plans go forward after a long pause. The rainy season just started. I'm hoping for a wet winter.

Maybe this all fits into someone's religious prophetic views. I don't know. I don't share that perspective. But it's a big issue here on the ground. Either through conservation, capital investment, or technological growth, it needs to be adequately addressed.

Medieval warming period followed by the little ice age in Northern Europe. Significant changes in the climate and temperatures.

Not global. Offset by changes in the Southern Hemisphere.

That current climate change is all natural.

Two things about Dinosaurs, if that's your example: 1. You should be terrified of sudden climate change, given that roughly 75% of all species died in the years after that asteroid hit and over 95% of species died during the End-Permian extinction when CO2 levels went crazy.

2. Some dinosaurs are still with us. You see them every day.

Sorry but I immediately thought of Keith Richards.

The only thing I fear is the Lord. And that is more of awe and worship "fear".

If you are not afraid of death then what is there to fear?

Man can pollute the earth. Trash in the ocean, toxic waste in our waters. Smog in the air. We can also destroy property with poor management and wild life is also under our domain.

Man can't control the climate. That is God's authority.

not really, God gave man domain over the animals of the earth including fish, birds, etc.

Man can pollute the air, land, and water. I can remember seeing methane bubbles in the Houston ship channel back in the 70's and today we all know of floating trash islands on our seas and smog over our cities.

Nothing to do with global warming which is now called climate change for obvious reasons.

We should continue to clean our air, waters, and lands to prevent cancer and other horrific bodily damage.

Nothing to do with the climate. A fraud made up by mostly folks on the left.

It's been called climate change since day 1, but global warming works as well. The global temperature has gone up about 1.2 C so far. If we're capable of destroying the land and water, we're capable of destroying air, too. Or does God not allow basic physics to work for the atmosphere?

You agree with island of trash, miles in diameter floating freely and our leaders are focusing on global warming? Let's clean up the actual filth we generate as humans. I walk in a large park weekly, wilderness of thousand acres and at least once a week see a tied bag full of dog crap on the trails. The crap would degrade in a few days but someone bagged it thinking they are doing the world a favor. Let's educate the public on real problems.

You really think China and Russia care about climate change. Russia, with more hydrocarbons and coal than us?
My goodness, these climate change people are the same people pushing CRT, BLM, and defund police.

Climate change exist, it is not man made IMO. Climate change has been around since the beginning of time. It is like the wind, where it comes and where it goes, only God knows.

We are going to spend our national treasure on wind mills and solar farms, raising our national debt by trillions while Russia and China fill their coffers selling oil, gas, and coal to the world.

One reason we have inflation is the rise in cost of hydrocarbons. The cost to ship goods and services has gone up +30% in less than a year hence your cost at retail has gone up. Look at your gasoline cost?
Oil companies are being made villians and regulated out of business. Their profits are earmarked for taxation. Drilling is bad.

Quad Dog
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I agree climate change has been around since the beginning of time, but humans have certainly sped it up and directed it by pumping out way more green house gases than should have occurred naturally.

If you are worried about costs, go look up how much climate change is predicted to cost if we keep ignoring it.

Oil companies are absolute villains. They knew what their policies would do, and they produced propogganda to cover it up that some on this board are repeating.

This is what I'm talking about. Look who made that. CRC is "California Resources Corporation is a company engaged in hydrocarbon exploration in California. It is organized in Delaware and headquartered in Los Angeles. It has the largest privately held mineral acreage position in California." That's used to be a couple different oil companies. The other info graphic was made by like 4 different oil companies.

Also, where did I say oil hasn't produced amazing things in our world? Because it has. But it's also done terrible things that we are just discovering. It's past time to move on to bigger and better.

I think there is a tendency to conflate oil and gas with chemical processing - but in fairness they share a common root. How do you have modern society without petrochemicals? Or do you only mean oil and gas as a primary energy source?

We will need oil and gas for a long time. But we have to move away from it as a primary source of energy. Big oil knew the dangers of climate change in the 80s and has been maliciously gaslighting the public since.

No we don't and we won't ever move away from such an abundant and cheap commodity.

Hydrocarbons are here to stay.

Most red states are hydrocarbon rich, most blue states are not.

There lines the rub.

No, the issue is that there are plenty that you simply don't want to recreate. The worst of which involve very high levels of CO2. And we're on a bad path.
