The Eucharist is spiritual food physically present, that, if we consume it, will cause us to live forever, per John 6.
It is the antidote to the forbidden fruit that caused mankind to die.
By eating it, we have the blood of Christ flowing in our veins, and thus, are part of his family.
If it transformed into physical flesh and physical blood, instead of transubstantiating, nobody would eat it.
Catholics walk by faith, not by sight, regarding the Eucharist.
