I'm getting my Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth and wondered if anyone else was currently or recently attended there? I was hoping to hear of your experiences and also hoping to find out some information on which Professors to take or not. I work full time and am in my mid 40's so my degree is mostly online but I'm hoping to use the degree once I'm done and eventually use it full time once I retire from my secular job.

So far I have completed 36 of the 88 hours and loved all of it but this semester I'm taking Greek and don't love it lol but I guess it's what you have to do. So any comments or suggestions are welcome and especially any prayers for me especially for me taking these language classes the next year or so! After languages it's a downhill slide! At least in my mind haha.

The harvest is plenty, but the workers are few. I commend you on chasing after your calling. I will pray that your faith remains steadfast and remind you that the hardest part of pastoral service isn't the theology...it's all the silly humans you have to deal with.

Sounds a lot like being a doctor. Or any job where you deal with people. And I would say your theology determines how you deal with people.

Are you in the seminary or a pastor diehard? I really appreciate the discussion.

Haha thanks. Although I can be one of the silly people as well. I have been in the Safety profession for over 25 years and believe me, while it's not the same as what Pastors or doctors have to deal with, I have my share of "silly people" many times. Thing is with all of these professions, we are trying to tell either spiritual truth or physical truth to help their lives be "not as silly". I appreciate the discussion too!

I am currently a student at SWBTS working on my MDiv as well! If you need to take OT I recommend Dr. Williams (his class work is challenging) but he might be one of the best profs I've had. Church History with Dr. Presley was an awesome class as well.

Get the Hart translation of the New Testament to assist with Greek, extensive notes there

I had Dr. Presley for both Church Histories and he is great. I had Dr. Gregory Smith for Old Testament and really like him. I'm currently taking Greek I online with Dr. David Hutchison and I'm like WHOA it's WAY more work than any of my other classes were. Well technically it's not more work than the other classes but I really have to keep up with it every single day so that's exhausting.

Anyone here take Turbo Hebrew in the Summer? How was it and who did you have? I want to do that next Summer just to be done with it.
