In essence they lay claim to the right to prepare them to be their future sex partners. They will force people who experiment with gay sex to remain in the gay sex pool, via laws that ban any counseling to help them leave.
When the writer is completely biased with hate and has no clue as to the ACTUAL motivations of the other side, I stop reading.

This is why you will never be taken seriously.

There is a valid argument on your side, but you are completely lost in your bigotry.

Gay sex pool?! I have no interest in any sex pool, gay or straight. Pools are for swimming.

So, I'm assuming this statement is due to the lack of biological connection between at least one of the parents and the child. If that's correct, I'm assuming the author also claims that adopted parents aren't really "mommy and daddy" of the child they adopted. The preaching minister at our last church has an adopted daughter. I'll be sure to let them know that they aren't her mommy and daddy.

It's written by somebody with a lot more perspeythan myself. He spent decade in the gay lifestyle and from the age of 13 was having gay sex with men that he knew through his gay parents.

It's destructive and leads to sadness and we should protect children from it.

I have a family member who is gay and married in California. They adopted 3 teenagers several years ago. All their friends were supportive and thought how great it was.

All of a sudden last year a new adult guy started showing up in social media posts. Apparently they now have some sort of threesome going on in that house. Of course nobody can say anything because...you can't say anything these days. Very sad.

So if I can show you a woman or man who was raped by straight friends of their straight parents, then you will say that all straight adults just want children to be straight so they can have more straight people to have sex with?

Netflix had a show recently with some open relationship gay couple, and I had to ask myself, is this normal in the gay community? And where do the writers come up with these storylines? Experience?

It seemed this made it pretty normal.... but since this weird gay triangle relationship had zero intersection with the main plot line we just began fast forwarding through it.

Wouldn't shock me at all if third parties are common in gay male relationships.

I just typed "tv shows about swingers" into google and got a lot of results like the ones below. Based on my research I've decided this practice is common in heterosexual relationships, which I've always secretly suspected anyway so it's nice to have it confirmed.

That's probably true. Also, you're always going to be dealing with the problems of self-reporting when looking at data on this. I'd say straight couples in general face more external pressure to appear monogamous, even if they're not quite. I'd argue that this is especially true for the female partner in a straight relationship.

Non-monogamous relationships are more common for gay people though right? I think I've seen before that y'all have way more partners than straight people, before and during marriage.

I would anticipate an uptick in "non traditional" relationships versus heterosexual couples, but not enough to consider it normal for homosexuals as a whole. While still radically different than the past, I think there's still enough stigma to drive some portion of the homosexual pool back into faking heterosexual relationships and make the more "out" pool more adventurous....if that makes any sense.

It will depend on how you define "more common".
    Beer Baron
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That's what I was getting at. I'm not sure how much any difference would be attributable to an actual uptick in occurrences vs. an uptick in reporting.

That is one of the frustrating parts about Seamaster posts. He doesn't come out and make specific arguments. I assume this thread is about how gays shouldn't be parents on account of the possibility that they might influence the children. Of course it's okay for a straight couple to influence gay children or Christian parents to influence their children who don't want to be Christian.

In the absence of any explanation from him, I assume the message is "Brainwashing is only okay if the parents are straight Christians."

Seamaster would have made a great salafi Muslim were his birth geography a bit different . There are all kinds of dumb that manifest in religion, but the very worst is the kind founded in antipathy and hatred for those outside your team.

It's one I've often seen manifest as a form of self hatred for the closeted hypocrite (there are a good number of televangelists and politicians who've fit this bill). The other is the boogeyman/scapegoat nonsense. This one is often thrown at atheists and gays as well. People who don't play by the rules you've set up and therefore undermine their credibility when their lives aren't a disaster for their choices.

Either way there is a foundation of antipathy and outright hatred. It's no way to live. And to preempt the question, I don't hate people who think this way, I pity them.
    Texaggie7nine

I believe that it can be part of the heritable temperament of certain conservatives who are wired to look out for danger. Obviously a number of humans have evolved a sense of distrust of outsiders and with that comes an innate ability to always see nefarious reasoning for everything an outsider does.

Sure, there are those that are driven by a hypocritical need to cover their own secrets or desires by demonizing the similar actions or desires of others. However, I think the majority of those like seamaster really are just acting on an obsessive trait that constantly looks out for danger to family/community.

Their obsession with finding threats leads them to see motivation of sexualizing children for the sake of exploitation when the real motivation is trying to prevent young homosexuals from having to endure the pain of growing up in anti-homosexual communities. And likewise, homosexuals who are scarred from terrible childhood trauma of being ridiculed for being how they were and being made to feel like they are freaks and or evil for simply being what they were born as, can have a misguided view of the motivations of those who are against their agenda and not at least realize that both sides really want what is best for children, as opposed to just mean and hurtful people who want all homosexuals to suffer versus depraved sexual deviants who want access to sexualize children.

Totally agree with this. I've often thought myself lucky to have been born in a time and place where the predominant religion has mellowed to the point where the most severely devout only shout their drivel online or on street corners. I really think there's something to the notion that some people are just wired for this type of thinking more than others.

I understand you don't like seamaster but you should at least employ some integrity with regards to what he posted. Don't mock a topic like adoption as it's something close to God's heart.

I believe the author underdeveloped a lot of his argumentation and did things shorthand because of the household he grew up in - he understands things but can't articulate them well (like being a native English speaker and teaching it to non-natives, it takes more than understanding). Raising kids with two fathers is intentionally inflicting trauma on a child since they have a biological mother that they'll be estranged from due to your own personal choice, as opposed to adopting a child out of a situation where the trauma is already present (like your pastor where you're not the cause of it, but I believe you already knew that). Even beyond that one must discuss whether we want to pursue what is optimal and intentional from God's perspective with regards to family structure (father and mother) or whether we're settling for something not as bad as the original situation (though also not objectively good). Do we think some trauma is ok because it's different?

Integrity? That's ironic, especially when you follow it with an absurd accusation that I'm mocking adoption. By no means was I mocking adoption. I was pointing out the problems with, and absurdity of, this comment: "We will have to tell innocent children that they have two daddies, when they do not."

And I don't dislike seamaster. Just because I disagree with him, or believe his posting style leads one to believe he has legitimate hatred in his heart towards the LGBT community, that doesn't mean I dislike him. I don't know seamaster personally, so how could I like or dislike him. I do dislike his flawed, seemingly hate-fueled, and obsessive posts on this topic, but I don't dislike him. So, please do not speak to things you of which you are ignorant. But, why am I also not surprised that you immediately focus on me? Now you may have the last word. Peace.

In general yes, parents should be able to influence their children. For instance the parts of their brains that process emotion are fully developed in middle school but the frontal lobe (rational thinking, reasoning) isn't and won't be for a few more years (anywhere from 18-24 depending on the research source). Hence the trans movement capitalizing on kids at this age appears to be abusive because none of them can think through the long term consequences of it. This particular author was 13 when he started experimenting.

Beyond that, yes, it is ok for straight parents to have and influence gay children in a manner that shouldn't be reciprocated because as mentioned above, all children have biological moms and dads and both are necessary to create them. For RA that's intentional design on God's behalf. If trauma is bad, then certainly adoption from a bad situation is good, but additional stress from suboptimal parenting couples is also not the highest and best good.
