Yeah I hesitated on that word but it's the best word for it. It's a mystery. They happen continuously across time. We talk about things in the eschatological now (ie the end times which have already happened, for example, the way we understand the "today" when Christ told the thief "Today you will be with me in paradise").
As for the grammar. He is risen... He is in the state of having been resurrected. He did rise, but it lacks the continuity of His existence in that state.
