I hope some of you are wise enough to take advantage of this unique opportunity!

"Millions of Church members, friends and invited guests are expected to view the 182nd Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). All five conference proceedings will be held Saturday and Sunday, 31 March and 1 April 2012, in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City and can also be viewed live via television, radio, satellite and Internet broadcasts.

Tickets are required to enter the Conference Center, where attendees will need to pass through a security check. Cameras, recording devices, weapons, food, backpacks, packages and large bags will not be allowed.

Overflow seating will be available in the Tabernacle, the North Visitors Center on Temple Square and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for all sessions. Overflow seating will also be available in the Conference Center Theater for priesthood and Sunday sessions only. Overflow seating for Spanish speakers will be provided in the Assembly Hall for all five sessions. Tickets are not required for admission to overflow facilities.

Parking options in downtown Salt Lake City may be extremely limited on Saturday. Conference attendees are invited to carpool or use public transportation to relieve downtown traffic congestion. Those driving are strongly encouraged to allow extra time for travel, locating a parking spot and being seated in the Conference Center. Public parking is not available at the Conference Center parking lot. Conference attendees should avoid parking in front of homes in downtown residential areas. Cars parked on neighborhood streets may be ticketed or towed at the owner's expense. Disability parking is located at the northwest corner of West Temple and North Temple.
Information regarding audio and video streams via the Internet can be found at lds.org/general-conference. A detailed broadcast schedule of general conference can be found at bonneville.info. General conference, with the exception of the priesthood session, will be broadcast live on BYUtv. For addition information on availability in your area and rebroadcasts, visit byutv.org.

Conference coverage, including photos, will be published throughout the weekend on MormonNewsroom.org. Additional information will also be posted on the Mormon Newsroom blog. Journalists, bloggers and others can get this material by going to those sites or following them on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or subscribing by e-mail.

Do you mind starting one thread about LDS news, and just put all of these topics into a single thread?

It would be nice, so I don't have to wade through so many of your LDS threads that I (and probably many others) don't care about?

Meanwhile, how many Mormons will break away Saturday afternoon and evening to watch the Final Four? Perhaps more than those who watch conference?

I'll never forget how popular the local cable outlet was in our hometown the year that it agreed to carry General Conference. Then, the faithful contingent among the local Mormons didn't feel obligated to go to the Stake Center to watch the satellite feed.

It must have been nice to stay at home and watch something else, or at least to have a choice. No explaining to the bishop or quorum leader why you weren't there.

Is it riveting? Should I stop watching the final 4?

I was fully expecting Bob to start the 'the Official BTHO General Conference thread'. I was really wanting play-by-play coverage of it.
