NoAc -what makes you think he is an active Latter-day Saint?

Surely you aren't going to claim that someone who won't be honest about their previous handle here isn't a real Mormon.

NoAC has shown far more respect to other posters here then you generally have shifty.

It's tragic that people died building the Bonfire.

There will be people who disagree about the importance of Bonfire itself, but this (Texags) is not the place that that can be discussed.

Everyone has their sacred cows. No one likes to see them slaughtered. He without blood on his hands, wield the knife first.

People are perfectly free to discuss that here and we have FREQUENTLY over the years.

What you won't see is the sort of despicable mocking a cretin like mikewaters partook in.

If that's not you, awesome. I have no idea why you think I'm showing you a lack of respect by asking. It's a pretty simple question. Are you him?

How long do you think a post criticizing bonfire, waste of materials and human resources, the pollution it created, the risk to surrounding structures, the lack of planning/oversight/safety, etc. would last before being deleted and the poster banned?

I know this debate does occur. Many debates about A&M occur in a number of areas. But Texags is not the place for it. You can't criticize A&M here.

Those very discussions HAVE TAKEN PLACE HERE. We have no problem discussing them civilly.

But I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about when mikewaters openly mocked the deaths of people I knew. I don't think a person who is grown up and respectful does something like that.

And I think I have my answer.

Next time you're going to make a stupid quip about 12 people brutally and tragically losing their lives, perhaps you should take a moment to consider whether or not that's a respectful thing.

Staff is going to step in here for a moment, shiftyandquick, and answer your question before you find yourself banned.

TexAgs staff tends to be pretty lenient and allow posters a great deal of latitude. There are some topics, of course, that we tend to keep pretty tight control over. The Bonfire Tragedy is one of those topics.

Keep in mind that TexAgs is a private, not a public, forum and that all guests are allowed to post at the discretion of TexAgs' owners.

A surefire way to find yourself banned, in addition to making comments about Bonfire that we find inappropriate or unwise, is to question the moderation of our boards. You are a guest at TexAgs. You have not been instructed to leave. Continuing to question the moderation of any topic, particularly Bonfire, will get you invited to leave. It is that simple.

Please, continue to hack away at each others' religions to your hearts content. That was one of the reasons the Religion and Philosophy Board was established. Do not go down the Bonfire road, and do not question the moderation.

I hope we at Staff have made our opinion quite clear.

99.99% of the "anti-Mormon vitriol" would evaporate from this board if if a certain poster would limit his spamming of this board and eliminate his own caustic remarks, which in most cases are far worse then those directed at the LDS.
