It's funny that SquareOne07 talks about the "loss" of Bonfire on campus, and then doesn't get this very elementary level aspect of Bonfire.

No, but just like in any hierarchy, when someone of the lowest level (fish) takes it upon themselves to give someone of one of the highest levels (Reds/Browns/BOD) advice without going through the proper sequence(starting with the fish, relayed through the cheifs/yellows to the leadership)...especially when all of this was told to each freshman at least once...people tend to get a little aggrivated.

If each '011er was to state what they think to the 13 Reds, 5 Browns, and 4 greens...nothing would ever get done because leadership's time would be used up a dozen times over.

This is not to say that a good idea, or a valid concern that a yellow pot cannot answer will not be addressed by leadership. It just works better to follow an order. Each Yellow is in near constant contact with their cheifs...who are all pretty close knit with their crews. Assuming there are ~8 yellow pots and each has 5 cheifs under them...that makes 48 people that are in contact with leadership. Add in the BOD, and the contacts for land, equipment, legal matters, and any required materials...the reds/browns are not happy when 400 people come ask the exact same question or experess the same concern...and 9 times out of 10 it is something the yellow could deal with.


cliff's notes: leadership's appearance of being asses is just a response to people choosing to ignore their requests and more often than not...waste their time.

I looked it up, apparently they can't make up their minds. Neeley is listed as having two residing yellow pots, Mike Rodriguez of Moore and Thomas French of Walton (Both exceptionally cool guys I'll add)

I would like to just point out that even though BMED starting this cause he hates some of the Browns, he did mention them because they were old Crocker. Now if any of you know the two browns that are old Crocker you will know that those two guys are probably some of the nicest Crocker leadership in a while. Now I know that may not be saying a lot to all of you but the point still stands. Sorry bud if you think some dude yelling at you is enough to cry over. Shrug it off and understand its not personal.

I thought the Brownpots were just a bunch of big ol' teddy bears waiting to be given a hug. I wished someone would have given me a hug during my brown year.

But, to clarify things, when Bonfire is clicking friendships will be made, and close ties will be forged.

i've paid my dues, and i don't mean just the five dollars every year. and that's all you need to know.

I would also like to think that some people out there are "grumpy" ***holes" or whatever it is you want to call them because believe it or not your life and safety is in their hands. Leadership takes huge resposibilities over crews.

It's kind of like a coach, because they yell at you doesn't mean they don't like you they are just trying to toughen you up a bit.

um... BMEDAggie11, I'm a Neeley bonfire guy and I've got to ask. Who on earth are you again? 'cause your kinda getting to big for your britches there, talkin **** about brownpots. We definetaly cut under Moore.

If a brown was rude to you chances are you deserve it for being stupid, being in the way, or just for being a fish. Browns are not out their to be your friend or to make you feel all warm and cozy inside...you have a mother for that. As to the statement that 3 of the 5 are hated by everyone including reds and yellows... The entire leadership might not be best buddies, but over all they work with eachother and rely on eachother to do a rediculous amount of work with limited resources to build bonfire so that Ags everywhere have a bonfire to look forward to. I am almost positive that NO freshmen have spent enought time with the leadership as a whole to be well informed enough to make statements about their feelings towards one another. That said, BTHOB....congrats to Walton on center pole and all the dorms with perimiter poles, and BOB rocks!!!

As for the brownpots, yeah, they're dicks, but that's their job. They have to take charge for the safety of everyone involved, and the easiest way to do that is order people and yell at them when they eff up. Granted, they may go overboard from tiem to time, but most of them are good guys from what I have seen.
